Autumn themed baby girl names

We've just found out we're expecting in late Sept/early October 🥰 baby boy name is already chosen, but literally starting with a blank slate for girl's names. I love autumn, it's my favourite season, so love the idea of having a name related in word/sound/meaning to the season and would love suggestions. I like the name Autumn - pretty straightforward - but DH isn't keen 😔

Doesn't Octavia mean 8? Ie August?

Sharonthetotallyinsane · 25/01/2020 07:52

The thing is, unless you call her Autumn, I doubt anyone will think that the name evokes that season. People don’t generally think that hard.

Peachbubble · 25/01/2020 07:13

Briar
Octavia

Erica (means Heather in Latin)
Equinox (I know this is not a conventional name, and could also be applied to spring)

Crisanti/ Crisanta - Autumn is the season for chrysanthemums.
Opal (the birth stone of October).
Safira (sapphire is September's birthstone; Safira means 'blue').
Garnet - nice deep red stone.
Persephone - associated with the changing season.
Tess/ Tessa - from Greek word meaning harvester.
Aurelia - means golden/tawny.
Keziah - same meaning as Cassia - both refer to the acacia tree, aka Chinese cinnamon (both real cinnamon and ground cassia can legally be sold as cinnamon in the US and very few people can tell the difference).
Orla - means golden princess (Irish name).
Astraia / Astraea - the constellation Virgo, goddess of justice.

Selene means moon, which feels autumnal to me.

veeboo · 25/01/2020 03:53

Another for Hazel and Amber. Both on our list. Also Robin/Robyn. Maybe something celestial like Luna, Celeste

I don’t like Autumn either as a name.

Hazel, Briar, Garnet

PrincessHoneysuckle · 24/01/2020 22:42

Autumn is the nicest suggestion

Icehotel · 24/01/2020 22:33

Autumn.
It's such a wonderful name. I'd definitely think about it .

Good luck x

Thanks for all of your suggestions!

As I said in my first post, I like the name Autumn but DH isn't keen at all.

@Elouera it doesn't really matter if they have an autumn themed name and then they move to Australia does it? 🤷🏼‍♀️

OrchidFlakes · 24/01/2020 21:31

Bonnie
Willow
Laurel
Fawn
Hazel

OxfordCat · 24/01/2020 21:30

Autumn?

Elouera · 24/01/2020 21:29

I'd keep in mind, that its only Autumn in the northern hemisphere in sep/oct!!! You never know where your child will live, travel and settle. For example, I was born in the Autumn in the southern hemisphere but lived in the northern hemisphere 15+yrs. I now have my birthday in Spring.

Some of the names suggested are really lovely. Are you into nature type names? Here are some others (not necessarily Autumn related though):

Brooke
Wren
Amber
Laurel
marigold
Ferne
Ottavia
Verda

SallyWD · 24/01/2020 21:28

I love Amber
