Autumn themed baby girl names

We've just found out we're expecting in late Sept/early October 🥰 baby boy name is already chosen, but literally starting with a blank slate for girl's names. I love autumn, it's my favourite season, so love the idea of having a name related in word/sound/meaning to the season and would love suggestions. I like the name Autumn - pretty straightforward - but DH isn't keen 😔

@Ginger1982 all I'm saying is, it's not the end of the world if a baby is named say, Hazel, Aurelia or even Autumn, and then as an adult ends up in another continent. I was named after a character in a book that I've never even read 😆 but it's not really about the meaning and significance the book has to me, it's about the meaning it had for my mum at the time she named me.

It just seemed a bit of a weird factor to take into consideration. A bit like saying don't name your child X, Y or Z because they might move to Sri Lanka/Peru/Timbuktu and no one will be able to say it.

Thanks to everyone for all of your suggestions. A lot to think about!

"I don't get that from the OP at all. She says it HER favorite season. Not necessarily because that's when baby will be born."

I very much doubt if the baby was due in, say, June she would have started this thread.

ohmysoul · 25/01/2020 21:57

I used to know someone called September.

'Well it depends. You clearly want to give them an autumnal name because they are due 'in the autumn'

"it doesn't really matter if they have an autumn themed name and then they move to Australia does it? "

Well it depends. You clearly want to give them an autumnal name because they are due 'in the autumn' so if they do end up living somewhere where it is not autumn in September/October then it kind of loses its meaning a bit in later life. I don't think the comment was that odd personally.

I have a thread on here about combination names/made up names, so thought I’d share one I found on a baby name website years and years ago.

Autara. Autumn/ Tara. I loved it. Could you take the Au bit and play around? Might come up with something that works and that DH likes while keeping the essence of the Autumn theme.

bluemoon2468 · 25/01/2020 17:21

@Calendars middle names are already chosen as family names - Rose for a girl (I think Autumn Rose would be so lovely but DH just isn't on board 🙄)

If just use Autumn as a middle name if your dh isn’t keen.

What other names do you like and do they suit Autumn as a middle name?

@thatmustbenigelwiththebrie October was named after Augustus Cesar, whose original name was Octavian.

Family name: Octavius.
