Really need to get some options for DD, due in April!

Contenders so far are:

Erica
Erin
Freya
Bethany/Bettany
Alexis

I'm hoping not to repeat our slight mistake with DS- we thought that Sebastian would be a relatively unusual but not too 'out there' name. Turns out it is one of the most popular boys names for his generation in our area of SW London! Confused

Erin and Freya are very popular. So is Evelyn. How about: Artemis, Esther, Natalia, Hermione

We had Elliott as our favourite for a boy however our last baby was a girl and I wasnt brave enough to use it for her. However i really wish we had, so if you like it use it. We went for Emily instead.

Dyane not Duane!

Bouncingbelle · 23/01/2020 00:52

I love Eliot for a girl, but I have a real thing for 'boy' names for girls :)

I wanted to call DS Evanne if he was a girl.

Or what about

Caroline
Mirren
Rebecca
Duane
Elin
Frances
Jennifer

Does anybody choose names for their meaning, which relates to their individual baby, when born or the in the weeks after birth?

MoreHairyThanScary · 22/01/2020 23:24

I have an Emily but her nn is Millicent which is a fab strong name ( Wish I'd gone with that originally!)

I like Ingrid for a strong girls' name.

littlejalapeno · 22/01/2020 22:41

Strong names are unusually monosyllabic and don’t end with a vowel sound.

AngusDuck · 22/01/2020 22:40

Wasn’t the blonde woman in Scrubs called Elliot?

TerrifiedandWorried · 22/01/2020 22:39

It seems the idea that boys are strong and girls are not is so deeply ingrained that apparently the best strong "girls'" names people can suggest are Rory and Elliott 🙄

TerrifiedandWorried · 22/01/2020 22:25

Aurora nn Rory

tigerbear · 22/01/2020 22:25

I have an Orla
Unusual but not ‘out there’
