Pretty girls names like Emily

The name Emily is such a pretty name for a girl and I tend to find most people feel the same. The problem is, I want it for my dd but can’t and no other names are matching up to me.

So, what girls names do you think of as pretty?

How about Emma? I love that name which was my suggestion & DH expanded it to Emily which is what we went for. I also love Chloe, Freya, Esme, Poppy, Charlotte, Paige

I feel the same about Evangeline, Vivienne and Isabel. All gorgeous names but off limits for me so may I suggest those.

If it's any consolation, all the Emilys I have everclnown have been batty nuts so in my mind it's not that pretty of a name. But you could maybe do Emilia, Amelie (love Amelie!), Amalia, Ember, Emerson, Molly or Amaya - those are all a lot more interesting than Emily too.

How about Emilia / Amelia or maybe even Amelie if that ain’t too similar ?
Or Alice is within that name category?

@PragmaticWench is Ettilie a real name as I love it! I much prefer it to Ottilie but it doesn’t appear to be a name that exists anywhere if you google it?

If it does @Scarylady then I think it much nicer than Emily but similar sounding.

Can I ask why you picked Emily if you changed it the day after birth- why did you register it?

I have a dd called Emily. I really dislike the name and use the nickname that her 2 years old brother gave her the day after she was born. No-one except very new school friends and teachers use her Christian name and everyone uses the nickname.

Hi op I'm an Emily Smile heard this name recently Emmeline? And thought it was nice I've also met an Emmy but know it's not everyone's tastes as might be too much like a nickname
