We live in the UK, I really love these name & there middle names (middle names are quite popular) just not sure if they're too weird 🤦

Girl : Saige Matilda
Boy : Quincy Eli

Both sound good with our last name!

What about Quinn instead of Quincy?

Whatsyourflava · 21/01/2020 08:12

Yes definitely spell Sage correctly if you’re going to use it

I can’t see why you’d deliberately spell it wrong

Do you have any other name ideas

Equanimitas · 21/01/2020 08:11

I add the " I " so it looks abit girlier and think it just looks nicer.

The thing is, no-one will know that is how it's spelt unless your unfortunate DD spends her life spelling it out. So you're giving her a name that you admit doesn't look nice without an extra letter which no-one will know is there.

Namechanger60 · 21/01/2020 08:09

I don't like Paige 😂

Puppilangstrumpfi · 21/01/2020 08:08

Agree that Sage is the better spelling. Although I prefer Matilda Sage.

Quentin (Quinn) is lovely and works well with middle name Eli.

Loopyloopy1 · 21/01/2020 08:08

And agree with another PP that if you like the spelling of Saige, go with Paige?

But Sage or Quinn are more sophisticated versions of your choices!

Loopyloopy1 · 21/01/2020 08:05

Also like Quinn better than Quincy!

Loopyloopy1 · 21/01/2020 08:05

Definitely lose the i in Saige!

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 21/01/2020 08:04

Quincy/Quinsy/Queasy. All unpleasant connotations and ripe for bullying. Eli is quite a overtly religious name, are you religious for it to "go"?

Agree with - Saige is too try hard. Sage is ok as long as you don't mind the inevitable stuffing jokes she'll get. Can't see how Saige is any more girly than Sage though? And it'll be a lifetime of her having to correct people All. The. Time (I have a name that gets similarly misspelled and it drives me mad, trust me)

muddypuddles12 · 21/01/2020 08:04

Sorry I was so confused by the spelling of Sage I forgot to mention my pure horror over the name Quincy.

Quincy?!

I feel like I really am picking on you OP but genuinely it's so awful. I beg you not to name your child that.

Although Eli I do like a lot, and we actually considered it as a name for our DS but it was pipped to the post by another.

TheGinGenie · 21/01/2020 07:54

I also thought of stuffing and quinsy. I'd go Matilda Sage and Quinn

muddypuddles12 · 21/01/2020 07:51

You may think it looks nicer but I think this thread has proven that you are definitely in the minority (and by minority, I mean the only person so far who likes it spelt like that)

BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs · 21/01/2020 07:50

I add the " I " so it looks abit girlier and think it just looks nicer.

It's going to cause her a lifetime of spelling her name, and really it doesn't look nicer. It looks like you should say it 'Sa-eye-j', or you couldn't choose between Sage and Paige so just mixed the two. Adding random 'i's into names doesn't make them girlier.

Sage is fine.

Quincy sounds very wet, and it's not my choice at all, but it's fine. Your first names aren't 'weird', they just aren't very nice. Eli and Matilda are absolutely lovely though.

MrsBertBibby · 21/01/2020 07:42

If you want girly, give her a girl's name!

Everyone has missed the fact that Quince is a British fruit, usually found growing wild. If you are strict on the pronunciation then I like it.

Sage (spelled properly!!) I like as well but too open to the stuffing jokes.

NoSauce · 21/01/2020 07:35

Quincy reminds me of the throat infection. I prefer Matilda and Eli personally.

memaymamo · 21/01/2020 07:28

I love Sage! Sage Matilda is a gorgeous name.

I can't warm to Quincy.

Bungalowbella · 21/01/2020 07:12

Yup! Too out there 😱

'Saige' is just ridiculous as a name...is the added 'i' supposed to make it less like something you stuff inside your chicken? Because it doesn't work, and you'll forever be spelling it out. And who wants to be known as Sage 'n' Onion all their life? 🤦‍♀️

Quincy is 🤢

But, as MN is always quick to point out...it's only your opinion that matters...so, go for it! Saddle your kids with stupid names...they can always deed poll a change later in life, right? 🙄

Grufallosfriends · 21/01/2020 07:05

Sorry that was meant to say Sage (this spelling) Grin

Grufallosfriends · 21/01/2020 07:04

Sage gothic spelling) is ok but I don't find it very feminine.

Quincy is ok but I love Quentin. Q is a cool initial.
Quentin Eli sounds great.

Lavenderblues · 21/01/2020 06:58

Matilda Sage
Quentin Eli

As suggested by a previous poster. Much nicer!

Tombliwho · 21/01/2020 06:38

Why the added 'i'? The spelling is Sage.
Quincy is just awful.
They're not too out there. Just misspelled or horrid.

HeronLanyon · 21/01/2020 06:19

As a quinsy sufferer I strangely don’t think of it when I hear Quincy as a name. Just think of Q Jones and Q tv programme.

Saige - this (especially with that random ‘I’ will inevitably divide opinion for her whole life. It’s the kind of name which carries a lot of assumptions/baggage I think however much we’d all love to be able to say ‘it’s just a name ffs’.

Whatsyourflava · 21/01/2020 05:40

I love Eli and Matilda

Sorry not so keen on first names. Usually like unusual names
