No, but then I live relatively close to the town of!
I know one and everyone rolled their eyes when he was born with more than one joke about conception at the M9 services!

DivGirl · 17/01/2020 20:21

I like Stirling, although the only Stirling I know of is Stirling Gallagher (Corrie actress).

I think I prefer it to Isaac.

AlpacaGoodnight · 17/01/2020 19:56

Love it!

Lavenderblues · 17/01/2020 08:44

Stirling is much nicer than Isaac.

The Isaac I knew got teased with I Suck a lot...

ottermadness · 17/01/2020 08:42

Thank you, showing this to OH

I like Stirling, and would choose it over Isaac.

lollybee1 · 16/01/2020 22:52

Ah. OK. See it now. Read through twice and didnt see it before.

ironicname · 16/01/2020 22:39

I'd roll my eyes at "can sterling come to tea?".

It's similar to Carter, Conner, Harrison etc.

A good attic surname, but not a first name.

PsychosonicCindy · 16/01/2020 22:18

@lollybee1

Isaac is in the OPs update

lollybee1 · 16/01/2020 22:15

What's Isaac got to do with It? Did i miss something? OP was talking about sterling

FreudianShit · 16/01/2020 21:39

My eldest is called Sterling and we're yet to meet another boy with his name!

DramaAlpaca · 16/01/2020 21:36

Stirling is much nicer than Isaac.

daisypond · 16/01/2020 21:34

Stirling is lots better than Isaac.

user1493494961 · 16/01/2020 21:33

Prefer Isaac. Someone I know named their son Stirling after David Stirling who founded the SAS.

Mamahannah2019 · 16/01/2020 20:58

I really like it!

Dollywilde · 16/01/2020 20:37

Makes me think of ‘sterling’ as in excellent or valuable like ‘sterling effort’. So I’m not a fan because if your surname is eg Jones then it’s ‘excellent Jones’. But that’s just my read - it’s not hideous so if you like it then go for it!

PsychosonicCindy · 16/01/2020 20:32

Stirling is a fine name. Weirdly and on a tangent, earlier I was thinking how Starling would make quite a cool name (I was looking at a bird poster at the time) you can have Robin and Wren after all (but not Blue tit though obvs)

Scatterlit · 16/01/2020 20:25

Isaac is much better. I don’t care for placenames as names.

BumbleBumbleBumbleLies · 16/01/2020 20:23

Like Stirling

Isaac sounds like I Suck around here

Freyanna · 16/01/2020 20:20

I like Stirling, fine name.

Whatsyourflava · 16/01/2020 20:14

I like Isaac

Stirling is ok

ottermadness · 16/01/2020 20:09

Noted, must try harder on spelling :-) thank you, lol.
Starting again.. Stirling (obvs) like Moss, too weird?? other contender is Isaac but OH and I cant seem to agree on one single boys name.

If you voted Remain, there's a welsh name that you might want to use. Euros.

It is Stirling Moss. Sterling is a surname.
It's not too weird.

OhMeows · 16/01/2020 19:59

Sterling Archer!

too weird..??
BobbyBlueCat · 16/01/2020 19:57

It's 'okay' if you spell it correctly.
If you're planning on spelling it like that, it's horrendous.
