I challenge you to suggest a name I've not already thought of...

I'm looking for a one-syllable name as the baby's second name will be long (double barrelled).

Boy's name.

Uncommon / not going to be too many of them either at school or in the media etc.

Names I've ruled out:

Things like:
John, Ben, Dan, Ed, etc (too boring, common amongst older people, 'around')

Things like:
Alfie, Albie, Ted, Wilf, Archie, (too popular)

Things like:
Bear, Fox, Snow, Thor (I kind of like them but they are a bit too much, iyswim)

Looking for a middle ground name. Uncommon, short, strong (not ending in "ie" sound) but not too wacky.

For example my favourite girl's name is Fern. (I quite like nature names).

The only boy's name I like is two syllables (Rohan- though could be shortened to Ro) but DH doesn't like it.

Any ideas for a name which fits the bill?

I really like Soren but it always reminds me of Charlie and Lola. I have absolutely no idea if Charlie and Lola is still a thing though.

In Denmark we spell it Søren (the ø is similar to the French "Eau") and it's not really pronounced the same way, but if you like Soren then go for it.

Do you think “Keir” is a bit of a write-off now the name has got so many strong Labour Party connections? Do you think people will avoid something if it was considered an overtly political name, like Boris for example?

I like Max which I know will be too common for you @Namesetc but if the full name was Maxim maybe it could be a possibility? Or Gilber with nickname Gil?

@AnonymousP sorry if that’s me. I’m definitely a bit of a maths nerd and Roman was one of top fastest rising name in 2018 and statistics don’t lie but hopefully my message was polite with helpful suggestions 🤓

I like Rohan. I don’t know that many Rowans, or Romans etc. But I have noticed that any thread with Rowan mentioned lately gets a barrage of near identical negative posts from the same few usernames Hmm

My ds is Søren and I love it...naturally Grin I also love Roo which was short for Rooney (maybe a bit long?).
