Just curious what people think of the name Louisa? What would you associate with this name?

Suggestions for middle names?

I have a Luisa Rosa (Spanish spelling as husband is Spanish). We have had lots of compliments. I've only met one other Louisa.

I love it. Only reason I didn't choose it was because I didn't like the nickname Lou and I was worried everyone would use that.

Ifeelinclined · 14/01/2020 20:06

Gorgeous name! Love it!

Yika · 14/01/2020 20:06

Louisa is a beautiful classic.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 14/01/2020 20:05

Absolutely beautiful

Very pretty and timeless.

balletpanda · 14/01/2020 20:03

Louisa is lovely Smile

CatteStreet · 14/01/2020 20:01

Lovely, classic and underused.
Eloise is nice too, but please, not Elouise.

Peachbubble · 14/01/2020 20:00

I like it, it's a classic.

I'm bias, I think it's beautiful 💕

MopsRUs · 14/01/2020 19:43

I really like Louisa and think it's due a comeback.

I think a middle name which starts with a consonant would be good. A vowel would run into the 'a' at the end of Louisa.

Louisa Charlotte
Louisa Willow
Louisa Romilly
Louisa Marianne
Louisa Holly
Louisa Florence
Louisa Naomi
Louisa Jasmine
Louisa Poppy
Louisa Coraline
Louisa Mirabelle
Louisa Violet

I absolutely love it. It’s not too fashionable or prissy but still pretty. It was on my girls list but dh didn’t like.

HarryRug · 14/01/2020 19:32

For all those saying Elouise/a it’s more usually spelt Eloise or Eloisa.

sel2223 · 14/01/2020 19:28

I much prefer Louisa to Elouise. Louisa is beautiful, elegant, classy, timeless....I really like it!

It's hard thinking of a middle name....what does the surname begun with?

MikeUniformMike · 14/01/2020 19:23

Elouise looks like you couldn't decide between 2 names or can't spell.

Why not suggest Loucy or Eloucy for someone who liked Lucy, while you're at it? Or Loucinda and Eloucinda?

KondoKonvert · 14/01/2020 19:21

It's beautiful. Love it.

MikeUniformMike · 14/01/2020 19:10

Elouisa and Elouise are both horrible.
Eloise, Louise and Louisa are all lovely.

LTEMercedes · 14/01/2020 18:50

@PlantPotting my husband doesn't like Elouise as it's very common in the UK

TabbyMumz · 14/01/2020 18:50

I love it.

Newbie1981 · 14/01/2020 18:50

My honest opinion is it sounds a little old. But it's still a pretty name

madcatladyforever · 14/01/2020 18:49

It's my name and people have said they like it my whole life so I'm not complaining

PlantPotting · 14/01/2020 18:49

Lovely

How about elouise

JacquesHammer · 14/01/2020 18:48

Utterly gorgeous.

avocadoze · 14/01/2020 18:48

I prefer Elouisa, as that uses all the vowels.
