Thank you everyone for all your help on my last thread.

We decided on Sebastian for a boy.

However if it’s a girl most votes were for Amelie or Emily.

My husband prefers Emily as it’s classic
I do like Emily but feel it’s dated? Amelie is more fresh.

What do you think? Please vote one!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh yes Good luck. Be sure to update. X

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 13/01/2020 00:06

Emily is not dated. It's one of those names th will always be round so will never date.

I don't like Amelie. It's funny way and name can be just one letter out yet change your whole opinion.

Kittywampus · 12/01/2020 22:50

Emily

NameChange30 · 12/01/2020 22:25

Are you or DH French?
If one of you is French, Amélie (with the accent).
If neither is French, Emily.

I love Sebastian! (Incidentally French too, although spelt Sébastien.)

Flymetothestars · 12/01/2020 22:25

Emily ❤️
Good luck with induction please update us!

Jayteedee · 12/01/2020 22:21

I would go Emilia or Emmeline (the latter is my fav)

Dollymixture22 · 12/01/2020 22:20

Keep to classic spelling. Don’t agree it makes it special, just a bit more awkward. Counts the same.

diddlediddle · 12/01/2020 22:18

Please don't spell it Emilie! Just cheapens a classic name. Emilia is ok.

PPopsicle · 12/01/2020 22:17

Emily! There aren’t that many around now

Charis1503 · 12/01/2020 22:16

I also vote Emily but spelt Emilie - just zazzes it up abit!

I also like the name Ottilie which maybe a similar vibe to what your going for?

Good luck with the induction. Mine took 63 hours from the first pessery to him making an entrance! Id reccomend carb loading!!

X

HelloRoaring20s · 12/01/2020 22:11

I like equally.

many years ago ds would have been Emilia
(We have Italian roots) if he was a girl.

By the way I also have a Sebastian Smile

Sorry my post is not a great help.

guineapig1 · 12/01/2020 22:11

Amelie

Thestrangestthing · 12/01/2020 22:10

Emily, there are too many Amelie's now

yogo · 12/01/2020 22:09

What about Eliza ? Just as if you can't decide maybe you've not found the right name yet.

Kirstyaka · 12/01/2020 21:49

Emily get my vote

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 12/01/2020 21:42

I like pp suggestion of Emilia. Classic and pretty.

I know a baby Sebastian and it (sorry) sounds weird calling a small child such a long old name; but equally so, Seb sounds really blunt and harsh (spoken as a fellow single syllable namer).

Flymetothestars · 12/01/2020 19:37

Emily definitely gets my vote

(Sebastian is a lovely name too)

17caterpillars1mouse · 12/01/2020 19:32

I much prefer Emily, it's not dates it just a classic.

I find Amelie a bit meh, and as others have said a bit try hard.

Love Sebastian

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 12/01/2020 19:22

Emily.

bridgetreilly · 12/01/2020 19:20

Amelie sounds pretentious unless you are French. I would pick Emily or Emilia.

user1493494961 · 12/01/2020 19:02

Amelie is a very pretty name, I don't think it will date. I know an Emilie.

M0mmyneedswine · 12/01/2020 18:19

Emily, amelie is very overused in my area

Clangus00 · 12/01/2020 18:10

Emily.

Thefaceofboe · 12/01/2020 18:04

Amelie. Sounds completely different to Amelia so don’t know why people need to point out Amelia is popular
