Juno - love
Lara - ok but bland.
Astrid - awful - reminds me of AstroTurf and sounds like some kind of insect killer.

AlliKaneErikson · 08/01/2020 22:50

Lara! I have a beautiful DD called Lara (10 today!).

Spied · 08/01/2020 14:30

Lara- love
Astrid- like
Juno- awful

EmmaC78 · 08/01/2020 14:29

Lara, Astrid then Juno.

Pemba · 08/01/2020 14:28

Lara is pronounced Lah-ra. Don't know where you'd get Laira from.

emmathedilemma · 08/01/2020 14:14

I'm sorry but Juno sounds like something you'd name the dog!
Lara and Astrid are ok, I couldn't split them as neither are something I'd choose.

nowaypose · 08/01/2020 13:27

Astrid
Juno
Lara

MrsBertBibby · 08/01/2020 08:21

Astrid : lovely.
Lara : bit sentimental but nice
Juno : bit trendy, and "juno what?"

Jossina · 08/01/2020 07:59

Astrid: always liked it
Juno: seems a mix of hip and not
Lara: I don't like the pronunciation Lair-a, and otherwise it makes me think it's Laura just spelled wrong.

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 08/01/2020 00:06

Lara - like
Juno - reminds me of unwanted pregnancies
Astrid - reminds me of The Office when Jan has a baby of the same name and people mishear and think the baby is called Asturd.

frankincenseandmur · 08/01/2020 00:05

Astrid
Lara
Juno

Castoreum · 08/01/2020 00:00

Astrid - love
Juno - OK, bit flash in the pan?
Lara - OK, bit insipid?

I wouldn't be horrified by any of these choices even if I don't love some, so quite frankly well done OP as I am regularly appalled by baby name threads.

  1. Lara (the only one I really like)
  2. Astrid
  3. Juno (If I heard this I'd think boy not girl personally)

Lara
Juno
Astrid. Nice enough name but it shortens to Ass. Not great.

PeytonManning · 07/01/2020 22:08

Astrid
Lara
Juno (the film spoiled the name for me)

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 07/01/2020 21:57
  1. Lara (I LOVE this.)
    2 Juno (Also very cute.)

  2. virtually every other girls name in the universe

  3. Astrid

Astrid! Love it, on my list.

Couldn’t choose between Lara and Juno, they’re both lovely. Juno cool in a more obviously hipster way and Lara in an understated, elegantly European way. I probably prefer Lara at a push.

MopsRUs · 07/01/2020 20:00

Juno
Astrid
Lara

Notso · 07/01/2020 19:57

Juno- I like it but it doesn't work in lots of accents.
My old neighbours had a dog called Juno and hearing it screeched in a cockney accent a hundred times a day had put me off it somewhat.
I also have a nephew with a strong northern accent and one of his best friends is Juno or Juwnerrrr.

Lara- I don't like. It seems popular on MN but it's a bit bland for me.

Astrid- I really don't like. It's such a harsh sounding name and the sound reminds me of Aphids.

WonderTree · 07/01/2020 19:46

Love them all (sorry, not helpful).

Cbeebiesrehab · 07/01/2020 19:42

Juno-Love.
Lara- bit too much like Laura to me but I don’t dislike it.
Astrid-seems too harsh for a baby and I naturally give babies nicknames (they often seem too tiny for their grown up names to me) and can’t think of a nice one for Astrid.
