I previously posted asking opinions on the names Ada and Jessica for baby girl due March however this name has now popped into my list.....

Thoughts on the name and which spelling would you go for ?

Donna's happy!Grin

Casey is a nice name. Jessica is OK but Ada imo only is an awful name. It's very much an old fashioned name. I have never met an Ada since I worked in a nursing home over 15 years ago.

PlantPotting · 07/01/2020 17:02

Oh dear oh dear 🤣

Love Ada and Jessica by the way OP

MikeUniformMike · 07/01/2020 17:01

Belinda got off lightly Grin

Chocmallows · 07/01/2020 15:02

Feylicity must be so grateful for that spelling!

It's like changing Jessica to Jesikah,.

NearlyGranny · 07/01/2020 14:12

Thought of you, OP, and this thread when I saw this board outside a real estate agency this morning! Poor Fel - she's probably been having to spell her name out to all and sundry ever since she could say her alphabet...

Kasie / Kasey / Casey ?
emmathedilemma · 07/01/2020 13:23

ooh no, chavtastic!

nowaypose · 07/01/2020 10:34

It’s very 90s, I think it was considered cool back then but it’s not now.

BlueRussianCat · 07/01/2020 09:59

Casey is way better than Jessica. Jessica is very plain, went to school with plenty!

BlueRussianCat · 07/01/2020 09:58

Casey sounds nothing like Tracey and Stacey to me.

I like it, similar to Macey. Not considered down-market here, I've never met one!!

Marcipex · 07/01/2020 09:56

Casey is the best spelling. The two I know are girls and both darlings,
Ada is awful and of course it can be shortened. Ades.

PlantPotting · 07/01/2020 09:29

Love Jessica and Ada

NoSauce · 07/01/2020 09:23

It’s almost has bad as Ada.

Go with Jessica.

Chocmallows · 07/01/2020 08:57

Jessica or Ada 100 times nicer names.

Astronica · 07/01/2020 08:54

Of those spellings Casey is best. It just doesn't come close to Ada or Jessica though - stick with one of those.

Spied · 07/01/2020 08:46

I like Casey
I do however prefer Carrie ( just throwing one in thereGrin)
Jessica is best from your list.

bombaychef · 07/01/2020 08:42

Where I am it would be deemed as they new Stacey (no offence meant) and downmarket.

Hundredacrewoods · 07/01/2020 02:42

Surprised at these responses! I don’t think Casey (spelled that way) is considered downmarket where I am.

PointlessUsername · 07/01/2020 02:32

Jessica is a boring
And Ada makes me think of an old lady.

Casey, i like.

Coughy4u · 07/01/2020 02:21

Love jessica and Casey. I only know female Casey's.. i'd think it's s girly name for a boy tbh. Dislike Ada, strange to pronounce.

NearlyGranny · 07/01/2020 02:16

Ada is beautiful and she will have a rôle model in Ada Lovelace (until the unfortunate gambling habit kicked in!) Plus it can't be shortened. It also goes well with single and multi-syllabic family names. Jessica is more popular and gets shortened, but it's a classic Shakespearean choice.

She will thank you when she grows up. I met a D'Quivious once so I do feel for the children growing up with quirky names and spellings. 😉

Whatsyourflava · 06/01/2020 23:56

Bit downmarket sorry
Love Jessica and Ada though

DramaAlpaca · 06/01/2020 22:07

It's not in the same league as Jessica or Ada.

IdentifyasTired · 06/01/2020 18:44

I like it, fashion and status be damned. It has a soft lilty sound to it and the only Casey/Kasies I have known have been lovely girls.
Also have a fondness for Kayleigh.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 06/01/2020 17:30

I think you were American it would be fine. Perfectly lovely and a bit edgy. But if you're in the UK then I'm afraid it doesn't work quite as well for predictably snobby, but honest reasons pointed out earlier. It is what it is.
