Thoughts please on Cosima for a girl?

Also... wait for it... Merrily? (My guilty pleasure name Wink)

Orphan black has a character with this name. I did really like it. Unsure of that spelling tho. Not sure why but it looks odd to me.

I pronounce Cosima “COSS (rhymes with boss) im ah” — how would you pronounce it?

I don’t think I’d dare to use Merrily but it’s just so happy and lively sounding. I do also love Merryn or Merida.

Both are odd

Cosima is gorgeous.

Merrily is.. odd.

I prefer Meriel or Meredith tbh.

My Grandmother was called Merry. I love Merrily. I also love Cosima.

COSIMAAAA YOUR LAYDAYYY AND YOU ARE MY MANNNN

Cosima is lovely, but you might get pronunciation issues with it. I rather like Merrily- maybe a middle name?

DramaAlpaca · 03/01/2020 21:06

I think Cosima is elegant and sophisticated. Mimi is sometimes used as the diminutive of it, which is very sweet.

I don't like Merrily I'm afraid and I now have Row, Row, Row Your Boat as an earworm

Aibuornotoop · 03/01/2020 20:55

Merrily is better.
Cosima isn’t very nice imo. Would be nicknamed Cossie as well like swimming cossie.
But essentially you should name your baby whatever you like! MN is notoriously harsh with baby names Grin

I like Cosima. Not so keen on Merrily, but no harm in it as nickname for Merryn, Meredith etc.
