Adore all 3 and finding it hard to narrow down
Potential "Tilly" & "Nellie" nicknames for Matilda & Penelope but more so focused on the full name
Thank you

Philippa

Matilda or Penelope

I’d be livid if my name was Philip with an A stuck on the end 🤣🙈

MaidenMotherCrone · 01/01/2020 10:14

Philippa. It's lovely. Pip is a great nn too.

Poorolddaddypig · 01/01/2020 10:09

Penelope! Love Matilda but v popular. Hate Philippa!

geojojo · 01/01/2020 09:21

Matilda. I love it but quite popular. Penelope also very lovely.

redwoodmazza · 01/01/2020 09:06

I like Penelope too - time for a revival?
And I like Penny as nn - definitely not Nellie [as in elephant!].

Penelope by a country mile. ❤️

daisypond · 01/01/2020 08:15

All are good but I prefer Penelope or Philippa.

FluffyEggsontoast · 01/01/2020 08:12

Penelope or Matilda . Love those names

Hate Phillipa. Just sounds like Philip with one A added on the end for good measure

OceanSunFish · 01/01/2020 02:31

I love Pippa or Pip so I'd go for Philippa.

Ellecrawford · 01/01/2020 02:25

200% Penelope. Absolutely love this name! Nickname 'P' 😩😩😩😍😍

Knockalockin · 01/01/2020 02:11

Penelope, shortened to Penny

MrsBertBibby · 01/01/2020 02:09

Penelope, by a mile.

DramaAlpaca · 01/01/2020 01:38

Penelope is my favourite, nn Nell (not Nellie or Penny)

I like Matilda nn Tilly, but it's popular.

Philippa is gorgeous but lots of people spell it wrong. I don't like Pippa as the diminutive as apparently it means something terribly rude in several European languages Shock

I love all 3 too, so no help here. All great as full names and all have several good nickname options. If any sound better with the surname I'd narrow it that way. Also if popularity is a factor for you - either prefer more popular or not - then most popular is Matilda, then Penelope then Philippa. If all equal with the surname I think I'd choose Philippa (because I especially love Pip/Pippa), but really would love any of these. I love Nell for Penelope too (though Pip/Pippa are also options for that too.)
