Hi there, I posted a few weeks ago looking some advice for Baby No 7 - a girl - our current children are Ewan, Eilidh, Peter, Cait, Harry and Robbie.

I have been struggling to think of name - my beloved dad who died 11 years ago was called Terry - not a name I would pick for a boy but beginning to think Teri for a girl might be quite nice and a real tribute to my dad. Just not sure 🤔- had been think Teri Elizabeth after my dad and gran - our surname is short, Scottish and easy to pair with

Is Tessa still too close to Teresa?

Teri is nice and goes well though.

Septima

I like longer names shortened as well - Robbie is Robert on his birth certificate but only known as Robbie - but no Therese would also be out

Is Therese (French version) any more acceptable? I’m one of those people who likes a long name with a nickname as you can probably tell!

Teresa isn’t really an option unfortunately - we live in an an area of NI where the name would be associated with a different religious and could cause issues for the child - still a sad state of affairs here

Teri would be a beautiful nickname and a lovely tribute to your father. Maybe Teresa/Theresa or Katherina on the birth certificate though.

Teresa?

Terry on its own can be a feminine name, I think it fits really nicely with your other children's names. Good luck with no.7! phew!

Teri Elizabeth is pretty. Congratulations.
