We’ve done unusual, but what old names do you rarely hear now?

I’ll start with Gary.

I know an adult Gary but no little Gary’s.

Samantha. Again I know adults but not little ones.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

We're expecting a Benjamin, when I told the staff at my daughters nursery They said they hadn't had a Ben in years! Have we chosen a name on its way out??? Shock

Colin.

I have a theory that people tend to like the names of their grandparents' generation. So all the little Florences, Mabels and Alfreds will call their children Pauline, Kevin or Sheila!

I heard young children today Albert, Mabel and Matilda (I may have sung waltzing Matilda a good few times).

ims0rrydarlin · 31/12/2019 00:06

Sonia.

In the late 80s and throughout the 90s for some reason this name became so popular amongst Asians. Not only in England though but also Pakistan and India.

I live in a small town in England and I know 8 asian girls with that name, all in their 20s & 30s.
