It’s a girl!

DC2 was born early this morning and it’s a girl, but we only had a boys name picked out. DD1 name came to us so quickly and easily and was chosen at 10 weeks but we have no names. DD 1 is called Callie. Here are some girls names on our list but none of them are jumping out at us:
Gemma
Tia
Briar
Hazel
Tara
Nina

We live in a small village so don’t want her to have the same name as anyone close in age to her. Please rate the names above and suggest more names.

Briar.....just why?! It's not even a name!

TatianaLarina · 22/12/2019 15:50

It’s any climbing prickly plant particularly a wild rose (Briar rose).

IWantToBeNynaeve · 22/12/2019 14:10

Between Tara and Briar I definitely prefer Tara. A briar is a prickly plant and there is a well known saying here that someone 'is like a briar ' meaning they're very irritable and in a bad mood so that would totally put me off. Felicity as a middle name is nice.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 22/12/2019 14:01

Nina is lovely.

What about Sadie or Cassie?

Changedname81 · 22/12/2019 13:29

Gorgeous x

Riv12345 · 22/12/2019 06:26

That is lovely op wishing you all the best.

OddshoesOddsocks · 22/12/2019 02:24

Briar is very pretty, I love Hazel too. Congratulations!

Im due our 3rd girl in April and she will probably be Connie. We also have Margot, Astrid and Claudia on the list but I think Connie is the winner Smile

Rumbelow · 22/12/2019 01:13

Briar is lovely, congratulations!

TatianaLarina · 21/12/2019 23:08

Yay! Great choice OP.

RandDandC · 21/12/2019 22:58

Currently the name we have chosen is Briar. The only name I didn’t include on my list is Logan because dh just doesn’t like it for a girl, hopefully if we have another daughter in the future I might be able to convince him.

How about Merida? If she had red, curly hair. I do like Briar though.

Riv12345 · 21/12/2019 19:36

Let us know what you decide on

TatianaLarina · 21/12/2019 15:20

Love Briar - much more interesting than Tara.

FizzyGreenWater · 21/12/2019 15:07

Oh Zara is lovely - goes with Callie too?

HalfBloodPrincess · 21/12/2019 14:12

I like Tara best. Also Zara

FizzyGreenWater · 21/12/2019 12:14

Oh goodness Raine is horrid, sorry.

diddlediddle · 21/12/2019 10:19

I love Raine and I really don't think it matters how long it is compared to your other child's middle name. No one is ever going to compare the lengths of their middle names!!

RandDandC · 21/12/2019 09:40

Riv12345 I love raine but DH hates it, he said I could use it as a middle name but dd1 has a long middle name so I thought it would be odd if I then used a really short middle name
