What’s popular for babies?

IRL what’s popular in baby groups etc? Am currently TTC dc2, not so interested in older kids names but more babies.

I find the charts quite misleading, my daughters name is in the 20s/30s and I’ve encountered a few. More than the actual top 10names. Just would be helpful to know :)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Why, just why, would anyone call a human being Jaxon??? Jaxon the Klaxon? WTAF?

I totally agree with this Grin. It’s unfortunately quite popular. I thought Jackson was bad enough but the x takes the piss.

Jayden is still doing the rounds too and Noah, think Logan is still popular as well.

I see Isla is very popular on Mumsnet, but I don't know a single one. It's my girls name should I fall pregnant with one

thenightfury · 17/12/2019 22:11

I know lots of Harlows, Noah's, Amelia's and Eva's/Evie's/ Edies

Are you trying to avoid popular names @mamablondie - I’m trying to understand your purpose behind the thread.
I’ve met more Matildas than Olivia’s locally to me but it doesn’t mean that olivia isn’t still the number 1 name

The Office National Statistics have produced lists of name data split into different regions of the UK so you could check there

There’s been 2 very recent threads on this exact topic @mamablondieb

One thread for girls and one for boys so maybe look there

Lots of Evies, Islas, Teddies, Harrisons.

Met a Merlin the other day which I had never heard, and liked it!

Lots of names mentioned above are the names that were used over 20 years ago - the names of my DC friends - some of whom are having their own children now. They would see them as dated now for a baby. They are 20-something names.

Boys in my baby groups are:
Ezra
Reuben
Noah
Harvey
Luca

Girls are quite few and far between! It’s boy central in my group!
The few girls I know are:
Emma
Maria
Beth

Showmeyourhero · 17/12/2019 19:16

Noah, Oliver, Teddy, Harrison, Isabella, Olivia, Annabell, Isla, Evie, Eva.. There's so many in DC's Pre-school!

daisypond · 17/12/2019 19:11

I think there’s a big variation in names, depending on where you live, your social circle, etc. I know babies called things like Daphne, Barbara, Sybil, Hamish, Peter, Vincent.

ohmysoul · 17/12/2019 18:43

Ava, Isla, Poppy, Cameron, Nathaniel, Mia, Louis

IggyAce · 17/12/2019 18:20

My dcs are older but babies born recently that I know are:
Corey
