Hi, I am not new to MN but have set up new account
I think my hormones are getting the better of me.

I have 3 other children 7,6 and 5. Traditional names but not twee or vintage . Think Grace etc
Have just found out I’m pg with very unexpected Baby number 4 (5y gap. Eeeek)
It feels like my first pregnancy all over again. It’s very early days but all I can think of is this baby. It’s consuming me !! I’m set on it being a girl even though it probably barely has genitalia yet :-)

Anyway, my mother is called Tina which I am not keen on but would like to nod to her in the name if it’s a girl so was thinking Tiana thoughts on that name please?
I am also seriously considering the name Navy for a girl as it’s small, cute and different. Am I nuts??
Also am slightly falling in love with Noa/ Noah for a girl which I also feel slightly bonkers for liking.
The only other names I really like are
Edie
Yvette
Tyra (banks will be old hat in 10/15y, no?)
Fiona
Tess

I can’t call a baby Navy can I??
Or Noa??
Speak some sense to a ravenous, over emotional 4th timer please

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
diddlediddle · 11/12/2019 08:31

Tess/ tessa and Noa are ok. Others are bonkers.

FenellaMaxwell · 11/12/2019 06:44

You can’t name a child Navy! She’ll get awful comments but having lots of sailors in her.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 11/12/2019 01:06

Viola or Violet?
(why are some colours acceptable but not others?)

pickleface · 10/12/2019 23:42

I think noa is beautiful

Cherrysherbet · 10/12/2019 23:21

I quite like Navy.....how about Blue for a middle name? 😁

doodoodoodoodoolittlelulu · 10/12/2019 23:19

Tiana is lovely.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 10/12/2019 23:15

I came across twins a while back called Navy and Skye. The mum was really nice but kept going on about wanting another set of twins so she could call them ruby and scarlet. Confused
Anyway..
I really like Noa! Very cool name!
Congratulations op!

Letthemysterybe · 10/12/2019 23:14

Also as there is a 5y gap I presume little Navy will want a playmate

You’re unexpectedly pregnant with number 4 , and already thinking about having a number 5??? Definitely losing it OP!!

Staffori · 10/12/2019 23:14

Edie is lovely, Fiona is nice. Noa sounds odd for a girl but I like Noemi and Naomi. The rest are not my taste and Navy reminds me of navy blue knickers.

pallisers · 10/12/2019 23:09

I know a Ticiana. (pronounced Tee-cee-ana). I think it is of Portugese origin. it sounds nice.

I really like Noa and Tess.

Notso · 10/12/2019 23:08

I love Tess and Tessa.

I actually think Navy is quite nice Blush I've heard much worse names recently.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 10/12/2019 23:07

Please call her Edie, or have a boy!

CoffeeRunner · 10/12/2019 23:04

YABU for using the term “give a nod to” 😷😷😷.

Only previously heard in The Sun or Daily Mail.

Tiana is an OK name. Navy actually is fine! I like it. Or just name your baby Tina.

getyourgrooveback · 10/12/2019 23:00

Tiana is terrible.

I know a little Navy (boy) his sister is Raeven which I quite like also... but they don't live in the Uk

Crazypanda85 · 10/12/2019 22:56

@butterflies but I'm also pregnant so maybe it is insane...don't listen to me.

Crazypanda85 · 10/12/2019 22:55

Navy isn't AWFUL (there's worse out there) but she will always have "what, like the colour" repeated back to her every single time she meets someone new.

Robs20 · 10/12/2019 22:52

I love Noa!

Blutterflies · 10/12/2019 22:46

I wanted to call out first girl Olive so badly but OH was totally against it. My daughter has a Verity in her class and calls her Ferrity so that has put me off. Maybe I’ll go with a shortlist of
Edie/ Edith
Valentina
Noa (wildcard)
Maybe Ivy which is similar to hides Navy

JoGose · 10/12/2019 22:45

Nina?

bxua · 10/12/2019 22:44

also I love Tiana

jakeyboy1 · 10/12/2019 22:42

I know a Noe (pronounces No-e) which is a boy but I always thing sounds like a girls name.

Tiana is very Disney - Princess and the Frog.

bxua · 10/12/2019 22:41

how about Navy as a middle name??

Valentina Navy sounds so beautiful

@Blutterflies

Dauphinois · 10/12/2019 22:38

How about Ivy? It sounds similar to Navy .

BornSnippy · 10/12/2019 22:37

I like Noa for a girl. Or Nora. Or Nina (my DD’s name and maybe also a tribute to your mum’s name).

If you like “v” then what about
Olivia
Olive
Verity
Livinia
Vita

Mammabear111 · 10/12/2019 22:35

Call your child what ever name you like it's your baby who wants a common name what everyone has it's good to pick a unique name I like navvy but I would probably put somethink with it
