Hi, I am not new to MN but have set up new account
I think my hormones are getting the better of me.

I have 3 other children 7,6 and 5. Traditional names but not twee or vintage . Think Grace etc
Have just found out I’m pg with very unexpected Baby number 4 (5y gap. Eeeek)
It feels like my first pregnancy all over again. It’s very early days but all I can think of is this baby. It’s consuming me !! I’m set on it being a girl even though it probably barely has genitalia yet :-)

Anyway, my mother is called Tina which I am not keen on but would like to nod to her in the name if it’s a girl so was thinking Tiana thoughts on that name please?
I am also seriously considering the name Navy for a girl as it’s small, cute and different. Am I nuts??
Also am slightly falling in love with Noa/ Noah for a girl which I also feel slightly bonkers for liking.
The only other names I really like are
Edie
Yvette
Tyra (banks will be old hat in 10/15y, no?)
Fiona
Tess

I can’t call a baby Navy can I??
Or Noa??
Speak some sense to a ravenous, over emotional 4th timer please

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Definitely not Navy! The others sound fine if they're your taste.

AJTracey · 11/12/2019 18:34

I like Navy! But then i don’t like the usual boring names where there are 5 the same in each class.
Yvette is Yvette Fielding to me Blush. Tiana is a Disney princess. Noa is cute but people won’t pronounce it correctly.
Fiona is due a revival i reckon.

VisionQuest · 11/12/2019 18:29

How about Nala, Naya?

Navy is a bit too alternative for my taste. Although you could always go the Avatar line and go with Navi
(Narvi) ?!

BertrandRussell · 11/12/2019 18:24

Not Navy.
How about Lark?

MilkLady02 · 11/12/2019 18:23

I was going to suggest Valentina so you can shorten to Tina. Someone beat me to it!

Happygirl79 · 11/12/2019 18:19

Navy is not an appropriate name for any child
Why did you even think of it?
Also consider the Christian name alongside your surname
Sometimes people neglect to do this and it can turn out to be laughable which is awful for the child

MikeUniformMike · 11/12/2019 18:17

Maybe I meant chirpy or chippy Grin

Nancydrawn · 11/12/2019 18:15

Noah is dreadful. You know Navy is bad.

Tess is lovely; Edie can be great with the right personality.

I unexpectedly like Valentina, though that may be because I know a very glamorous and clever Valentina.

Tortoiser · 11/12/2019 18:14

Maeva?

bridgetreilly · 11/12/2019 18:09

I quite like Bettina, but I would shorten it to Betsy or Betty, both of which are super cute.

Clementina and Florentina are also possibilities.

LucyLocketss · 11/12/2019 16:41

I hope you have a boy Confused

Mayvis · 11/12/2019 16:39

Or Yvonne?

Mayvis · 11/12/2019 16:37

If you like the 'v' sound and slightly out there names, what about Loveday?

ldnstb123 · 11/12/2019 16:33

I actually think Navy is a pretty name and sounds nice weirdly

Cbeebiesrehab · 11/12/2019 16:26

Bettina is not goodConfused (in my humble opinion)

Cbeebiesrehab · 11/12/2019 16:25

Of the*

Cbeebiesrehab · 11/12/2019 16:24

I like Noa...and I actually don’t hate NavyBlush I prefer it to a lot of more traditional names out there.

Blutterflies · 11/12/2019 15:43

I am still on the fence with Tiana even though some think it’s chavvy, I’m looking at you @MikeUniformMike
I’m now considering Bettina, with a view to calling her Bess. Scratches the Tess itch and includes Tina.
It sounds particularly abrasive to my ear to be honest but would never be used in full and gives her options as she is older.
It’s a vile name though right?

Wondered how long it would be before someone dropped the C bomb!
Sorry you have such crap neighbours @justilou1 sometimes a name is forever tainted by shits and idiots.

LOVE Edie, hate Noa because of the kid next door who is a thieving little bully with shithead parents who are exactly the same.... (venting!) Tiana reminds me of the Princess and the Frog. Cute movie, but not my fave Disney Movie. Navy isn’t great, but who am I to judge, I love Grey for a name!

MikeUniformMike · 11/12/2019 12:50

Tiana - ch*y
Navy . Am I nuts?? - 'Fraid so
Noa/ Noah - No
Edie - ok, not my taste
Yvette - ok
Tyra - ok
Fiona - nice
Tess - lovely

I can’t call a baby Navy can I?? - you can, but it's a bit unusual
Or Noa?? - you can, but I just see No.

Favourite is Tess but not if your surname is Tickle.

elderlee · 11/12/2019 12:37

I love Edie and Tess and I actually think Noa(h) is lovely for a girl - went to school with a female Noa and I have always loved the name but it has already been vetoed long before even thinking about getting pregnant :( but still love it!

ilovetinsel · 11/12/2019 10:25

Blue Ivy?
A la Beyonce

user1493494961 · 11/12/2019 09:10

I like Isabel (lots of different spellings though!)

Blutterflies · 11/12/2019 08:37

Sailors in her..... poor thing!!
Thank you for showing me sense. I bet I’ll end up calling her Isabel when she’s born and being done with it. And I’ll look back and laugh that I wanted to use such a silly name 😂
