Middle name for Joni

We've decided on Joni for the first name, but need a decent middle name. I don't mind how long it is, but don't want it to have an ee sound at the end. Also not keen on the current grace/rose/may middle names although they are lovely. Thanks!

I love the name Joni - what about Rai or Bea? I think I like Elizabeth the best of the suggestions so far though!

I think a lot of people would pronounce Joni as Jon-i, especially non English speakers.

Joni is a great name! I think it sounds good with a longer middle name - Elizabeth sounds great but it’s already been suggested so I’m not much help.

OP has chosen the name Joni, not Joan, nor Joanie.

As for middle name suggestions, the first few that immediately spring to mind for me are:

I would assume Jon or Joni is a nickname for Jonathan.

Joan is much nicer for a girl!

Sorry, posted accidentally, I’d go for either one or more than two syllables- and nature names are lovely- Rosetta, Wisteria, Soleil. Or for more unisex Sky, Dale, Blue.

As someone who’s name is Joan, I don’t really get this ‘Joni’ trend. Why not just use Joan and call her Joanie...? Looks like Joni to me. It is a great sounding name though 🙂

As for a middle name I’d go for more

I agree that Rowan is nicer as a girls name than a boys IMO, but you say you’re choosing a name that Joni can have as an alternative to Joni so you mig hut want to bear in mind that the fastest rising boys name in top 100 is currently RoMan (will be top 20 in the next year or so). When theres so many lovely names to pick from I myself would never want pick out a name that’s SO similar to another name that’s so ubiquitous. There’s a lot of confusion between the two names where I work (with newborns) x
