I’m expecting a baby girl soon and quite like the name Gertrude. The only problem is that I can’t find a middle name that suits it. Please help!

Could you use Gertrude as a middle name?

My Mum had a friend called Gertie Wallace who reeked of mothballs

Choose carefully so she can use it if she decides she doesn't like Gertrude. Which she probably will. Gertrude - honestly, what on earth are you thinking?

Wheresthebiffer2 · 01/12/2019 23:03

Gertrude - that's a big name. are you sure?

Keep it short, something like Ella

I love Gertrude, that was my Great Aunt's name!

Gertrude Lily was her name.

Gertie for short.

Fabulous!

I think you need something quite short and light to balance Gertrude.
