Middle name for Gertrude

I’m expecting a baby girl soon and quite like the name Gertrude. The only problem is that I can’t find a middle name that suits it. Please help!

Congratulations, OP, on your baby. You’ve chosen a lovely name. For what it’s worth, I LOVE the name Gertrude, and had it on our list. So refreshing after all the airy, frilly, almost-not-there girls’ names. It’s robust and exciting. Hope you do get a little Gertrude one day.Enjoy your baby!

Depends on the last time what it flows with but I think 3 syllable names seem to fit best

Well... I’m back. My husband and I decided to name her Arleta Constance instead of Gertrude after my mil threw a fit over the name. I’m still hoping to name a future daughter gertrude!

I’m not a fan of Trudy either, I’m afraid. It’s a bit Mrs Trunchbull to my mind.

Another vote against Gertrude, sorry. Though Trudy is nice!

Definitely go with a straightforward middle name. Anna or Lily are my fave suggestions on here.

Where I'm from 'Our old Gert' is an affectionate term for a spouse.
Greta is far nicer imho.

I suggested Greta as to me it is a 2 syllable name using some of the same letters but it is lighter sounding.Geraldine etc are not similar.

Greta? Why not Geraldine or Georgina or Gillian? They all begin with G, so are all very similar to Gertrude. Confused
