WDYT?

Cecily Violet
Penelope Violet
Esme/Esmée Violet
Violet Esme/Esmée

Violet is after my husband’s late gran. We have a 3 year old called Aurora Lillian. Lillian, her middle name, also being an honour.

Penelope, definitely. Lovely and great nns - Penny, Nell.

Esme is faddy and Esme Violet will be the equivalent of calling her Kelly Lisa if you lived in 1985.

Cecily is a bit harsh.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 28/11/2019 15:09

I like Cecily Violet and Penelope Violet.

I don’t like Esme (a bit popular and the two pronunciations would bother me), and I’m not as keen on Violet as a first name.

VenusClapTrap · 28/11/2019 12:23

Violet Cecily

LarkDescending · 28/11/2019 11:59

I know 3 small Penelopes, all born in 2018 or 2019! I think there’s a Kardashian factor putting this name into the zeitgeist, even if it isn’t behind individual choices.

Inspired by Cecily/Cecilia - have you considered Celia? Easy to say, and nice with Aurora.

CravingCheese · 28/11/2019 10:29

Imo:

Penelope Violet is gorgeous.
Cecily Violet is nice as well.
Violet Esme feels very trendy => will probably date.
Esme Violet already feels dated.

LizzyMargaret · 28/11/2019 10:19

It must be regional? I’ve met or know of 4 Esmes with 3 different spellings, 1 Violet and 0 Cecilys (or Cecilias) or Penelopes.

Funny people have found Esme popular - I’ve never met one in 4 years at baby groups round here.

I love Esme Violet and Penelope

AdaColeman · 28/11/2019 10:08

Not keen on Esmee, but the others are all lovely.

My favourite combination is Cecily Violet, just perfect!

soupforbrains · 28/11/2019 10:02

I love the name Cecily and have a good friend by that name BUT, if potential nicknames will bother you, then at school Cecily was known a lot as CessPit.... she was very pretty, clean, bright, sporty and popular, it was not due to any other association apart from her name starting with the sound 'Cess'

I used to love Esme but it's become a lot more popular and I now associate it with quite chavvy usage.

I like both Penelope and Violet and I think they both go well with Aurora (which btw is one of my favourite names)

userabcname · 28/11/2019 09:38

Love Penelope

Spied · 28/11/2019 09:28

Cecily is the nicest.
Esme is 'common' (where I live)and will date badly.
Penelope reminds me of Phoebe and I find both to be really ugly names.
Violet is nice.

TatianaLarina · 28/11/2019 09:26

Violet Cecily.

Outofmydepth75 · 28/11/2019 09:22

I love Cecily.
Also like Penelope. You could either shorten to Penny or Nellie.

Disfordarkchocolate · 28/11/2019 08:59

Penelope Violet.

Sksksksk · 28/11/2019 08:59

Esme is gorgeous.

PollyShelby · 28/11/2019 07:36

DD went to school with a Cecily and lots of the reception class couldn't say the name.

Penelope will be Penny ( I like it but it's our dog's name!)

Violet is lovely but my mum put me off calling DD it by saying it sounds like violent.

So I think I would pick Esme from your list.

Astronica · 28/11/2019 07:30

Penelope Violet or Violet Esme.

katewhinesalot · 28/11/2019 07:11

I don't like Cecily.

RoseMartha · 28/11/2019 07:08

Violet Esme

RainbowMum11 · 28/11/2019 07:07

Aurora & Esme sounds like a lot of vowels.
All others are lovely though, I think it's really special to have family names as middle names.

OhTheRoses · 28/11/2019 07:02

Three lovely first names and hard to chose between them. I know lovely Pennys who are 60+ always shortened. DD knows two Cecilys gorgeous girls (she's 21), all the Esmes are under 10.

FreshHorizons · 28/11/2019 06:54

Cecily Violet

Thatnovembernight · 27/11/2019 21:27

I like Penelope best

CravingCheese · 27/11/2019 21:23

Penelope Violet is gorgeous.

Thetimetravelerswife · 27/11/2019 21:23

I like violet the best too.

Or Cecilia.
