I absolutely love the name Willa. DH likes it to, however mentioned it to my mum and she laughed. Sad is it that bad? My DS is Arthur.

Gorgeous name! PLEASE don’t listen to your mother and use it! I think me and @MissHenty should start up a Willa appreciation society😂😂

Willa is a lovely, underused name. I love it. It has a vintage sort of rustic feel like Tess or Alma. I’ve seen it pop up on name boards a few times recently so I think it might be gaining interest at the moment and for good reason. It’s beautiful! I think it will age better than Willow as it’s an old name.

Willa is nice. I personally prefer Wilhelmina but maybe that's me being weird.

I also prefer Willa to Willow btw.

Willa is a gorgeous name! There’s a programme on Netflix called Beyond and it has a character in it called Willa and it struck me then what a lovely name it is 👍

I immediately thought of Willa Cather, and then thought "Cather" is a lovely name, before realising that my name is actually that, with and "ine" on the end!!

So after 50 years I must have grown to like my own name.

@Cookit agree I’d totally pick Willa over Willow (love both names but Willa has the edge and to be called Willow if youre a girl who isn’t Willow-y must be hard, Willa doesn’t have those connotations or expectations on it)

And for what it’s worth, I’d rather be a Willa than a Willow. Willow sounds like hippy-ish whereas I can imagine a serious, professional Willa.

I really like the name Willa. I’ve never met one but have heard of a little girl called Willa.

I like Willa and I think of Willa Cather and her fabulous books. I much prefer Willa to Willow.
