Are any of these names chavvy?

Sorry for the goady title, I'll probably get flamed for using the term 'chavvy' but I just need to know if I'm setting my future child up for a lot of judgement. People do judge others for their names after all. So we have:

Summer
Lydia
Elise
Autumn
Aurelia

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TatianaLarina · 17/11/2019 22:02

I don’t give a hoot about your opinions. You said it was Disney and it’s not. Surely that’s the end of the discussion? Confused

Angela9 · 17/11/2019 22:00

I don't like summer as a name. All pretty names otherwise

NotaWagon · 17/11/2019 21:46

Are you OK?

It's not like you to try and control what other people think? I've read your posts before and you're not normally like this Confused

I don't make the name, for the reasons given. it's in that style and that's fine surely, just my opinion. Don't know why you won't allow me to have an opinion on the name. I know this isn't how you usually post.

TatianaLarina · 17/11/2019 21:42

On the contrary - you’re the one who mentioned Disney and kept going on about. Turns out you’re not even right!

Not my DDs name btw.

NotaWagon · 17/11/2019 21:38

''wittering'', that is so rude by the way. Behave. Keep it civil.

NotaWagon · 17/11/2019 21:37

ha ha! you're the one who is determined to keep mentioning it!

I am beginning to think it's your daughter's name. I apologise for upsetting you.

The name is clearly close to your heart.

Namaste.

TatianaLarina · 17/11/2019 21:29

Erm no that’s Disney fan fiction.

Is there any reason why you keep wittering on about Disney? 🤷🏼‍♀️

NotaWagon · 17/11/2019 21:24

Maybe so, but having googled it earlier now it turns out that there is a Disney character (a princess) called Aurelia.

don't worry about it

TatianaLarina · 17/11/2019 21:16

I’ve googled the cast list of Disney characters A-Z. There is no Aurelia.

You may have been confusing it with Aurora.

Ergo the rise in popularity has nothing to do with Disney.

Staffori · 17/11/2019 21:02

How is a 'Lid' and 'ear' sound at all attractive?

It's not pronounced lid-ear - nor more than is Olivia pronounced olive-ear. I've always loved the name - probably starting with the book, 'Love for Lydia' and the Dean Friedman song.

NotaWagon · 17/11/2019 21:02

I don't know because I'm not a Disney fan. A quick google confirms the link though.

Not sure why you are arguing this so hard. If you like it, you like it. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong. To me, it's very Disney.

Don't worry about my opinion so much.

TatianaLarina · 17/11/2019 20:56

It’s not particularly popular now, just more popular than it was.

What Disney film was it even in?

NotaWagon · 17/11/2019 20:32

You're being a little obtuse here @tatarinaLarina, The question was not ''have you read meditations?'' it was ''do these names sound chavy?'' and association with a Disney film doesn't help a name.
It didn't used to be popular. Now it is. If you think that is because everybody is suddenly a massive fan of Marcus Aurelius then you're welcome to believe that. That's your prerogative.

TatianaLarina · 17/11/2019 20:22

clearly they did make it popular with the general public

I see no evidence for that. It might have made it popular with Disney fans but they do not constitute the ‘general public’. There’s a whole world of people with no interest in Disney. Imagine that!

EducatingArti · 17/11/2019 19:32

What about Aurora?

missmouse101 · 17/11/2019 19:27

Don't understand the Lydia love. It's awful. So harsh and dated and ugly. How is a 'Lid' and 'ear' sound at all attractive?

ClaraClaraMissesMama · 17/11/2019 19:20

Summer is definitely chavvy. Autumn borderline - not keen.
I like lydia, Elise, felicity and constance Smile

NotaWagon · 17/11/2019 19:17

It was never very popular though. Part of what tarnishes a name is a particularly fast rise in its popularity. If you like it, you like it, there are worse names.

Lydia Constance is lovely OP

pinksparkleunicorns · 17/11/2019 19:16

Felicity Constance

Is what I'd go with

pinksparkleunicorns · 17/11/2019 19:15

Sorry but after Lydia I will always hear chlamydia.

Summer to me is very chavvy. It's also not to my taste.

Autumn I love but maybe borderline. I like the others 😊

Aragog · 17/11/2019 19:13

yet it took a Disney film to make the name popular.

It isn't that long ago when the name was used for a Disney Princess. Think its been used as a first name in the UK for far longer ime.

NotaWagon · 17/11/2019 19:07

@TatianaLarina, clearly they did make it popular with the general public

You may love the name and not want that to be the case, but it is.

RowenaMud · 17/11/2019 19:06

Summer
Lydia
Elise
Autumn
Aurelia

Apart from Aurelia and perhaps Elise, I think all the others are tbh particularly Lydia, Summer and Autumn.

bookmum08 · 17/11/2019 19:04

Those names say All Girls Grammar School in Suburban Surrey to me.

TatianaLarina · 17/11/2019 19:01

Speak for yourself. Disney did not make the name popular with me.

Aurelia and Lydia are the two classical names that are not chavvy. The others are rather.
