Considering this for baby girl due in 4 weeks! What are your thoughts? Have you ever come across one?

Sibling for DS 4 yrs Moses if that makes a difference! Smile

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My first thought was Labia, what about vulva or fanny as an alternative?

PineappleDanish · 13/11/2019 16:01

NO WAY.

Just because Jordan and India are almost acceptable as children's names, that doesn't mean you can stick a pin in an atlas. It's a child, not a Womble.

IWorkAtTheCheescakeFactory · 13/11/2019 16:00

Grin clearly a joke.

Libby is bad too. Round here Libby is a chain smoker in her 60’s with a voice like a bag of angry wasps and a union flag on her house. Grin

FavouriteSoul · 13/11/2019 15:58

Call her Olivia, Libby for short. Not Libya FFS.

Celebelly · 13/11/2019 15:55

'Oh I've found a lovely name that means 'noble' and 'wolf' and those meanings really resonate with us. So what do you all think of the name Adolf?'

Sorry Grin

PaddyF0dder · 13/11/2019 15:51

Libya?

That’s f’ing hilarious. Holy moly.

On you go OP. You call your kid that.

Grin
NothingTraLaLa · 13/11/2019 15:45

How about Democratic Republic of the Congo?

Demi for short.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the OP didn't know it was a country... Confused That's the only reason I could think of that you would consider it!

graziemille567 · 13/11/2019 15:36

This is a joke, right? Seriously, please do not name your child after a war torn country.

habipprtyh · 13/11/2019 15:33

Libya? As in the people who bombed a plane over Scotland killing 100's of people Hmm

Yeah, sound choice Confused

pinkcardi · 13/11/2019 15:33

Livia is lovely.

Lybia can't be disconnected with the country. It's not a place that I'd want to be named after, with it's troubled past and uncertain future. As an aside, my father worked their once. He was driven in armoured vehicles, accompanied by armed guards and stayed in a building which was protected by 4 machine gun turrets. It was so incredibly dangerous.

You really can't call her that name, despite the lovely meaning that you've found

Celebelly · 13/11/2019 15:29

You do know it's a country, yes? And not one with particularly pleasant connotations in recent years. I hear Libya, I think Gaddafi...

NameChange84 · 13/11/2019 15:27

No way! Why would you name a child after a country that's had so much awful stuff happen, especially recently?!

Livia is nice. Liberty nn Libby is acceptable.

I know a few Persias if geographical names are your kind of thing (you mention India). I also knew an Oceana.

eternallybaffled · 13/11/2019 15:22

Instant thoughts- Labia, Gadaffi 🙈

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 13/11/2019 14:35

Liberty. Lillibelle. Elizabeth. Isabelle

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 13/11/2019 14:12

Have you seen it anywhere OP?

CynthiaRothrock · 13/11/2019 14:10

Hmm sorry but sounds too much like labia. I love unusual names, but i foresee teenage years to be very hard for some one with that name!
If you like Libby then just name her that, failing that Liberty or Elizabeth

PushkinTheCat · 13/11/2019 14:10

I would definitely go for Livia, it’s a lovely name. Only downside is I could see it being mistaken for Olivia.

BendingSpoons · 13/11/2019 14:08

Personally I think Libby on BC is fine. A friend changed her name by deed poll from Elizabeth to Libby as that is the name she always used.

RiddleMeThis2018 · 13/11/2019 14:07

Livia: beautiful.

bumpertobumper · 13/11/2019 14:07

Liberty is a nice name.
Libya is a nice sounding word, but that connection with the the meaning and Moses is tenuous- nobody will know that. Your DD will forever have to explain her name 'yes, like the country' to bemused smirks and raised eyebrows.
It is that the country has such a troubled history with no light at the end of the tunnel for them.
As someone with a quirky name, but not on this scale, I would strongly suggest that she won't thank you for it.

Winkywoop · 13/11/2019 14:05

What do you think about just Libby on bc?

Or Livia nn Libby?

OP posts:
helpmum2003 · 13/11/2019 14:05

Or something Biblical/Hebrew/Muslim to go with Moses?

hungryhippie · 13/11/2019 14:05

Absolutely dreadful. How about Syria, Afghanistan or Iraq?
