Nicknames for Serena?

We've found out we're having a girl early next year and I've always loved the name Serena - it's a very empowered but traditional name.

Only problem is that I can't think of any way to shorten it...

Would love to know if anyone knows any Serenas and what they go by!

DS might have been Seren if he'd been DD, with the nickname Star (which is what it means in Welsh) - not sure if Serena means the same?

As a baby/ little girl Ree-Ree or Reenie, as an adult Rena?

FriedasCarLoad · 12/11/2019 19:21

My grandmother was known as Reenie. Plenty of family members had nicknames which came about naturally rather than being derived from their first names.

Ren?

HalfManHalfLabrador · 12/11/2019 19:13

I know two who go by Ree and Nena (Nina)

I know a Serena and it's never shortened. It's a no for Siri unless you're an iPhone.

Ohyesiam · 12/11/2019 19:11

Siri?

We have a Serena who we call Sunny (although she prefers her full name). Also gets Reena, Reenie. You could have Cee-cee? Ours is definitely not that! She loves her name btw Smile

Nicknames evolve. My brother has a nickname totally unrelated to his name. My dd has a nickname made from her initials.

BonBon411 · 12/11/2019 18:55

Sera, Rena or Renae are good nn’s ...
Love the name!

FawnDrench · 12/11/2019 18:53

How would you pronounce it?
I know 2 Serenas - one is Sehr-Aynah and one is Surr-Eena, so different nicknames may be possible depending on the pronunciation.

sleepismysuperpower1 · 12/11/2019 18:23

its a gorgeous name OP! My dc's cousin has the same name and she goes by Sera, and my dd's friend (also called Serena) goes by Rena (pronounced Reena). all the best x
