What do you think of the name Emily with Beatrice as the middle name (after her Granny)

Beatrice is beautiful and more interesting and memorable than Emily. Emily has become dull from overuse imo.

BelfastmummyL · 31/10/2019 21:39

Beautiful name ❤️

MissHenty · 31/10/2019 12:40

I absolutely love the name Emily and find it a much nicer name than a Beatrice . Both names are good though. Great choice

feelingchange · 30/10/2019 18:07

Love the name, if I had another girl today I would call her Beatrice Isabella.

FizzyGreenWater · 30/10/2019 18:03

No, popular doesn't necessarily mean dull at all! I've always loved the name Sophie, perenially popular. I think it's really elegant and interesting. Likewise Anna, probably my favourite gir's name. (Tough I'd call Anna classic rather than really popular).

Emily however I find boring! - like a couple of other folk on here and on a recent thread, I recall. Something terribly prim about it. It's all subjective though.

Pemba · 30/10/2019 17:41

See this is what I don't get: In my mind 'popular' does not necessarily = 'dull' Emily has been popular for ages, one reason must be because it's such a nice name. See also Anna, Sarah etc. (although Sarah is not so popular now).

Just because a lot of people have that name doesn't suddenly make it less attractive IMO.

FizzyGreenWater · 30/10/2019 17:05

Yes, also prefer Beatrice by a mile, Emily is nice but super, super dull!

HelpImStressed · 30/10/2019 13:19

very lovely and classic. Emily is very popular tho , keep that in mind but I’m sure you’re aware!

NoSauce · 30/10/2019 13:11

Prefer Beatrice to Emily but both nice.

Pemba · 30/10/2019 12:55

I'm not mad keen on Beatrice but in this context it works well. Nice tribute too. And Emily is lovely.

Astronica · 29/10/2019 23:39

I like it.

paperandfireworks · 29/10/2019 22:10

twilightcafe · 29/10/2019 20:14

Lovely combination.

Mallowmarshmallow · 29/10/2019 20:12

Both lovely names.

Beatrice is my 'I wish I used it' name. My DD would make a fabulous Bea....!

Wizzbangpop · 29/10/2019 20:01

Lovely names and whilst I quite like Emily Béatrice, I prefer Béatrice Emily

YorkshireIndie · 29/10/2019 19:57

Really nice name combination. If my sister was not called Emily we would have used the name (although we debated)

RedRec · 29/10/2019 19:40

Both lovely. Like them in either order too.

DramaAlpaca · 29/10/2019 19:38

Very nice indeed.

BabloHoney · 29/10/2019 19:37

Beautiful name.

daisypond · 29/10/2019 19:35

I find Emily very dull, but Beatrice is great.

HMArsey · 29/10/2019 19:02

I prefer it the other way round, I love Beatrice and think Emily is a bit meh.
