Do you have any names that you love but never see mentioned on MN?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

mildlymiffed · 30/10/2019 21:55

For a boy, I like Rowan

Elderflower14 · 30/10/2019 21:51

My other choice for a boy was Thaddeus..
Hepzibah for a girl..

rabbitwoman · 30/10/2019 21:51

Joan.
Richard.
Rex.
Miriam.
Jason.

I don't have any kids so can't call anyone Indianna, Wanda or Eurydice. Probably for the best .......

HerRoyalSpookyness · 30/10/2019 21:47

Bernadette. It's such a pretty name. biased because I have a little Bernadette

I quite like Michael for a boy.

flametrees · 30/10/2019 21:46

Katherine

LikeaHurricane · 30/10/2019 21:43

Ha ha! I'm now laughing at my own post and how disdainful I sound about my ex Grin

LikeaHurricane · 30/10/2019 21:42

I have always loved Romy for a girls name.
Ex DH vetoed it though ... I should have ignored him, because my DD loves it and says if she has a girl, she's going to call her Romy

Peony99 · 30/10/2019 21:36

Naomi as PP says.

Also Susannah.

Geekynzmum · 30/10/2019 21:33

Mine is Cassandra, it was always the name I wanted if we had another DD and I absolutely love it. Halloween Smile
Also love the name Naomi, and have fond memories of a lovely friend I had as a child called Naomi.

MikeUniformMike · 30/10/2019 20:37

Because the threads are usually about the names that are currently trendy and generally overpopular.
So many are things like Thedore or Sebastian? or Olivia or Ava?

I like Lorna too.

Cicely is lovely but Cecily is just too Cecil-y.
Dot is brilliant, and to think that when a friend wanted to call her DD Dorothy way back in the early 1990s I said no.

Some of the names popular on here are awful.

daisypond · 30/10/2019 20:35

Dorothy has been back for a while. Clara is common these days.
Marjorie.
Sarah.

Mrsbclinton · 30/10/2019 20:29

Girl
Clara
Helena

Boy
Paul

KH1987 · 30/10/2019 20:26

Good choice on the girls names, both of those are on my list, but I think me and My husband are set on Margot for a girl

drspouse · 30/10/2019 11:55

I know an Eden and a Nora.

I don't hear Sarah for a small girl enough. Both I and a good friend were considering it but didn't use it.

highheelsandwitcheshats · 30/10/2019 11:54

I like Cole too.

Christopher
Garrett
Kennedy
Luke

Ella
Edie
Nora
Dorothy (NN Dot)
Nell

Mamagunner · 30/10/2019 11:52

Annaliese for a girl Rupert for a boy

bridgetreilly · 30/10/2019 10:55

Cicely. I also like Cecily, but you do occasionally see that mentioned.

Bobthefisherghoulswife · 30/10/2019 08:43

Geraldine

mumumof2 · 30/10/2019 08:42

@meandmyboyz I think Cole is a great choice!

GummyGoddess · 30/10/2019 08:41

It does make you doubt your taste, I named dc1 without knowing what other people were calling their children. Then found out he was one of about 6 born that year so now I wonder if nobody picks that name because it's so hideous!

I do like Idris but DH vetoed that.
