We are pretty much settled on Eden for our DD's first name but what is everyone's thoughts on Bloom for her middle name?

I absolutely love it I just need to convince DH!

Sounds like a boy's name to me - don't like it all - sorry!

joystir59 · 26/10/2019 13:14

Mary Eden is better

finallychangedmyusername · 26/10/2019 13:12

Eden Mary is nice

schafernaker · 25/10/2019 22:13

Sounds perfectly at home at the Eden project 🤷🏻‍♀️

CileyMayRhinovirus · 25/10/2019 11:08

I love the name Eden. Don't like bloom. Sorry

MikeUniformMike · 25/10/2019 11:04

Eden is a ch**vy name IMO.
It's the name of a chain of bookmakers around here.

HotSince82 · 25/10/2019 11:01

Marcipex
Well, yes I would have thought that goes without saying.
I live in a predominantly working class area, perhaps you have met young female Edens who aren't chavvy. Unfortunately I have and my opinion is equally as valid as yours, my working class credentials nonwithstanding Smile

Topseyt · 25/10/2019 01:05

Eden is sort of acceptable. I've heard of worse anyway.

Bloom is awful.

Marcipex · 25/10/2019 00:53

HotSince it must be the people you mix with!

I know a male Eden in his fifties and two girls of 13, neither of whom are ‘chavvy’.
I think it’s lovely but I’m not mad keen on Bloom. Blythe or Belle maybe?

123Dancewithme · 24/10/2019 21:49

Eden Mary is much nicer. Eden Bloom just makes me think of the Garden of Eden.

Nonameyet1 · 24/10/2019 20:29

Eden Mary is a lovely name

HotSince82 · 23/10/2019 19:02

Eden is chavvy in the extreme when used for a girl.
Most Edens I know of are men aged twenty plus and the female ones invariably are aged under ten and hyphenated with something appropriating Mai/Jade/Bloom etc.

Frith2013 · 23/10/2019 18:58

Awful.

Sounds like a florist based at the Eden Project.

MissHenty · 23/10/2019 16:49

Love the name Eden Mary @WinnieRose1

WinnieRose1 · 23/10/2019 13:53

We think we may go with Eden Mary, only down to the fact that I'm rewatching Downton at the moment and love Lady Mary ha!

Love Eden Blythe

FizzyGreenWater · 23/10/2019 11:33

No, sorry.

How about Blythe?

Toojudgypants · 22/10/2019 20:30

Eden is lovely . Bloom is awful.
What about primrose, willow, violet or daisy?

HoneyandSpice · 22/10/2019 20:25

Love it! Go for it. I had Eden down for a first name for my DD / DS (we didn't know what we were having)

Krisskrosskiss · 22/10/2019 20:22

*Jonquil sorry not Jonqil

Spied · 22/10/2019 20:21

No.
Sounds pretentious.
Will a grown-up Eden Bloom thank you for your great choice when choosing her name?
I wouldn't.

Krisskrosskiss · 22/10/2019 20:19

Eden is gorgeous... I'm not so sure about Bloom though. Maybe try a flower /plant name?
Iris, Dittany, Willow, Rose, Lily or Jonqil?

WinnieRose1 · 22/10/2019 20:13

You've all made DH very happy! Boooo

But I do all get what you all mean, back to the drawing board then

I like it. I like one syllable names for girls and Bloom feminises Eden which is traditionally a male name. Think it will be marmite on here though.

MrsAgassi · 22/10/2019 19:17

Sorry, sounds like the name Glade would give one of their air fresheners.
