Ok so really easy what do you think?
Obviously like Stanley...but spelt Stanlee like the guy who wrote all the marvel comics.

You want a marvel link or your husband does, there loads of ways to do it.

Tony, Steve, Peter, Clint.

Or even just Stanley.

Or get dogs. I an a huge marvel fan and have 3 spaniels Phil (coulson), Tony (stark) and Natasha (Romanoff).

You can tip your hat to marvel without giving your son a name with a ridiculous spelling, which will follow him is whole life.

Also, if you husband is a marvel fan how did he not know that Stan Lee, was a stage name and a first and last name. Not his first name with a quirky spelling?

IggyAce · 20/10/2019 09:15

FFS just spell it correctly, trying to be unique with the spelling makes you look thick in my opinion.

AloneLonelyLoner · 20/10/2019 09:12

I had to open this thread, compelled to tell you how awful it is.

Don't do it.

Stanley or Stanlee.

Old man with dirty underwear connotations for me.

He will definitely have to change it when he's older.

Ohyesiam · 20/10/2019 09:11

Why would you? Poor child.

Robin and Marco are great.

Fruityb · 20/10/2019 08:59

Why not Tony? Or Thor? How about Hulk?

user1493494961 · 20/10/2019 08:56

Tell DH that Stanlee is bloody daft and to change his name if he wants a 'link' to a Marvel comic.

horse4course · 20/10/2019 08:56

How about Stan Stanley Lee?

XXcstatic · 20/10/2019 08:55

Never can puck up the named cups things off the shelf believe me everyone must spelling your name is tiring

I've got one - it is. I have to spell my name out every frigging time. It's worse than an unusual name, because it sounds ordinary and everyone thinks they know how to spell it, so they tend to write it down wrongly, even when I've spelled it out (think name pronounced Sarah but spelled Sara). Just spell your child's name the normal way.

AJPTaylor · 20/10/2019 08:52

Stanley Lee??? This is the thread that gives. Well done op for ruling out

ShippingNews · 20/10/2019 08:51

No. You might love Stan Lee but his name wasn't Stanlee. Please don't do this to your child. If anything, Stanlee sounds like you are trying to make it a girl's name.

Starlight456 · 20/10/2019 08:48

The thing about different spelling of names you always have to spell them. Never can puck up the named cups things off the shelf believe me everyone must spelling your name is tiring.

Cyberworrier · 20/10/2019 08:44

I think a few people would high five your husband for coming up with one of the funniest and silliest alternative spellings ever, and I say that as a Marvel fan!

Isohungy · 20/10/2019 08:42

Robin and Marco both excellent choices.

OB30 · 20/10/2019 08:41

My husband will be thrilled he came up with such a popular idea! 🤣

Just. No.

Morado · 20/10/2019 08:33

It's a bit weird to basically name your child Stan Lee... My first thought was 'It looks like Stan Lee who wrote the marvel comics" and although he is/was a legend I didn't think that in a good way..

honeybunlatte · 20/10/2019 08:27

But Stan Lee's name is Stanley Lieber. Just spell it Stanley. Stanlee is ridiculous.

OB30 · 20/10/2019 08:22

🤣🤣🤣 fail

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 20/10/2019 08:10

Bold fail there.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 20/10/2019 08:07

I'm not a huge fan of made up spellings. How about first name Stanley and middle name Lee?

His name would be Stanley Lee. That’s, in my opinion, worse than Stanlee (which is atrocious!). At least with Stanlee people would only realise it’s bad when it’s written down.

Give the kid a break and a name that will cause them no issues.

NoSauce · 20/10/2019 08:06

I actually think that Stanley Lee is ok

Are you high?

HerkyBaby · 20/10/2019 08:05

I can just imagine the sniggers at every stage of his life when his name is at the fore - school register , job applications etc. The sniggers won’t be at him but people will perceive that his poor parents couldn’t actually spell his name right. I actually think that Stanley Lee is ok.

NannaNoodleman · 20/10/2019 08:04

Actually it should be about what it will be like for a child to grow up with that name. Naming a child isn't just a bit of fun or an ego trip for 'mummy'.

^ This 100 times over!!!
