rainbowlou · 19/10/2019 22:06

My dd was at school with 3 and they’re now 20/21.
I work in a school and haven’t met any in the last 15 yrs.

Warminstermum · 19/10/2019 21:57

nn’s not MN’s...

Warminstermum · 19/10/2019 21:57

One aged 12...lovely girl shame about her mother who has put me off the name Lydia

It’s a lovely name but she quite often gets called Lyddie-Loo or Lyds which are both ugly Mn’s.

HoldMyPhone · 19/10/2019 21:53

None of the associations are or have put me off!

I know two six year old Lydias! Great name 😊 My friend hates the nickname “lyds” but you can guarantee that her friends will call her that when she’s older!

parrotonmyshoulder · 19/10/2019 21:51

One who is 13.
Would have loved it for DD but doesn’t work with our surname.

saffy1234 · 19/10/2019 21:50

Lazysundays18 · 19/10/2019 21:49

I know one. She's 6 months old. My friend has encountered a couple at baby classes.

mnahmnah · 19/10/2019 21:48

I don’t know any, but it was one of our favourites for a girl ( we had boys! ) and I’ve never thought of it as an old lady name.

100PercentThatBitch · 19/10/2019 21:47

One, 20s, lovely person

Zillaindie · 19/10/2019 21:47

None, it was my number one girl name for my twin boys.
Phoebe or Olive would have been her sister.

worriedaboutmygirl · 19/10/2019 21:46

Also Lydia in Pride and Prejudice is not a great character but it’s the Aunt Lydia thing which would really really put me off

Ludways · 19/10/2019 21:46
2 I was at school with, so they're in their 50's now 1 A neighbours daughter, age 12 1 a work colleagues baby
17caterpillars1mouse · 19/10/2019 21:46

Love Lydia

I know 3
32, 5 and 3

HoldMyPhone · 19/10/2019 21:46

It does seem to be for all ages of girls and women!

And thanks for grammar correction, missmouse - would be a bit mortifying if I couldn’t refer to my own child correctly Blush

I would be wary these days because of the association with Aunt Lydia in the Handmaid’s Tale

Ohyesiam · 19/10/2019 21:45

Zero.
I think it’s an incredibly elegant and strong feminine name

Yeahnahyeah1 · 19/10/2019 21:44

Two. One is 15, one is my age, 25.

SallyWD · 19/10/2019 21:44

One who is 6 years old.
