Yes yes yes!!!
Is call her Theodora on BC and call her Teddy as a nn

Perunatop · 18/10/2019 23:47

No way

fin89 · 18/10/2019 23:43

Absolutely love it! I was tempted myself!

Marcipex · 18/10/2019 23:41

Twee and naff.
Theodora is awful too.

123Dancewithme · 18/10/2019 22:54

Awful and twee.

percheron67 · 18/10/2019 22:49

I suppose, if she has a brother, you could call him Rupert?

VenusClapTrap · 18/10/2019 22:46

Awful. I would hate to be called such an infantilising name.

DontCallMeShitley · 18/10/2019 19:56

Do you have a boy called Bear?

OooErMissus · 18/10/2019 19:55

I'd be absolutely gutted if it were my name (actual name, not nickname), so wouldn't lumber anyone I supposedly loved with it.

RuthW · 18/10/2019 19:49

Robbiw William's daughter is Theodora. Teddy on it's own is awful for a boy or girl.

Elementalillusions · 18/10/2019 19:43

I have a Teddy in my family, she is Theodora but has pretty much always gone by Teddy (or Ted when she was an angsty teen) she’s now in her late 30’s, and still prefers Teddy.
It suits her though.

ThreeLittleDinos · 18/10/2019 19:33

I like it.
Although Edwina and Theodora... not so much!

Pixilicious · 18/10/2019 19:32

Love it but only if it’s short for Theodora

june2007 · 18/10/2019 19:31

Not in it,s own right and a bit too masucline fort me.

Quitedrab · 18/10/2019 19:30

It's a kind of lingerie. Am I the only person to think that?

saffy1234 · 18/10/2019 19:27

What a horrible comment @misspiggy19 my niece is called Teddy. Its lovely go for it x

myolivetree · 18/10/2019 19:25

Love this.

My kids are known by names like this though they have the full, slightly more, pompous names on the BC ( just in case, obvs, for when they are all lawyers or whatever)

DPotter · 18/10/2019 19:24

Knew an Edwina whose nn was Teddy.

Give the child a proper name - then use the nn for everyday. It does leave 'growing room'

burritofan · 18/10/2019 19:22

Love it

Peony99 · 18/10/2019 19:19

I know and Edwina nn Teddie.

I'm not a massive fan, but putting it out there if you want an alternative to Theodora.

Please do give her a longer name. My name can't be shortened and I dislike not having options. It's not even a cutesy nickname to begin with, it's a proper name but only one syllable.

I'd hate to have a marmite name I couldn't vary.

thatsmyumbrella · 18/10/2019 19:14

I love it

DramaAlpaca · 18/10/2019 19:13

I don't like it on either a boy or a girl.

OneKeyAtATime · 18/10/2019 19:11

I love it!

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 18/10/2019 19:03

Theodora on bc then she has the choice of teddy or Thea which I personally love, unfortunately my husband didn't 😔

Twelve8Ts · 18/10/2019 19:03

@WhittlingIhopMonkey So you think that in 20+ years time, when all the babies that are now called increasingly popular names like Arlo, Albie, Hunter, Willow, Wren, Teddy, Fox, Autumn, Chester, Cooper, are actually the ones in the workplace, that they will be judging someone called Teddy?
Not everyone’s a sheep.
