Mine must be:

Male:
Rufus (never liked the name)
Jonathan (personal hate 🤷‍♀️)
Marcus (reminds me of mucus)

Female:
Brianne (annoying name)
Kim (Kim Jong-Un, Kim Kardashian...)
Regina (Mean Girls)
Karen (stupid Mean Girl)
Rachel (bit plain and Rachel Green)

Darius

Marceline
Echo
Tyra

Bonus points for MIL who has repeatedly suggested Mercedes and Isadora (the name of her dog).

I love the name Maverick and really wish I'd named DS2 it. Not even joking, it would totally suit him.

Ticklemeelmo · 04/12/2019 14:15

@HatingTheBigShow

We checked and there were 70 baby Mavericks registered in the UK in 2017 according to the BBC site. He's using this as validation that it's an excellent choice of name Grin

GlamGiraffe · 04/12/2019 12:52

Serenity and venus. I concluded he was mad, my friend asked if he was visiting lap dancing clubs as these seemed to be stripper names!

HatingTheBigShow · 04/12/2019 12:49

Maverick is amazing. (Terrible, obviously, but has genuinely made me laugh.) The only suggestion my husband has is James.

IckleBear · 04/12/2019 08:27

Richard! Hmm

Ticklemeelmo · 04/12/2019 05:14

@Ahundredpercentthatbitch

*Maverick.

He was serious.*

That's so funny, I'm pregnant at the moment and mine has been banging on for months that he wants to call him Maverick 😂

Not happening ever!

WooMaWang · 03/12/2019 22:03

My ex suggested Ace and Slevin. I exercised my power of veto.

lightlypoached · 20/10/2019 07:40

Crystal and Angel. Soon slapped those out of his head Grin

Mac47 · 19/10/2019 23:30

My exh suggested Stacey. In 2005.
He did not suggest a single other name but said no to an awful lot of them.

SubmersibleSandwich · 19/10/2019 21:20

Curtis Hmm

CharitySchmarity · 19/10/2019 21:06

This is 20+ years ago but DH went through phases of liking Broderick, Isambard and Tobias. I could probably have lived with Tobias, so long as we didn't call him Toby which I felt was a bit too cutesy. The other two, not so much.

Oh, and he liked Lisa for a girl, which I thought was too strongly associated with our age group.

Crunchymum · 19/10/2019 13:40

DP liked Shannon and Joanne for DD

No way Jose. Both were vetoed!!

IndieTara · 18/10/2019 22:22

My XH wanted DD to hé called Neda

TheQueens · 18/10/2019 22:20

He wanted Ingrid for a girl, thank the lord DC was a boy!

Pumpkincandle · 18/10/2019 22:13

I see Eden as a girls name Hmm

My husband wants Thor for a boy. We're not Scandinavian and definitely cannot pull it off!

May84 · 18/10/2019 21:43

I'm a mental health nurse who works on an acute men's ward; so loads of male names have been ruined for me by having difficult/aggressive patients with those names!
The most common names for some reason are Stephen, Jonathon, Darren, Daniel and Jason! Common names for 35+ men I guess.
So I literally have one boys name that I like, but tons of girls names as I don't work with women 😂

RecoveringChocaholic · 18/10/2019 20:01

My DH didn't actually suggest anything too outrageous but we got fed up with people asking us if we had decided on a name yet so we just said that our DS will be called humphrey and DD is delilah Esmeralda tallulah. Then just watch their faces and walk away. 😂

SilverySurfer · 18/10/2019 16:45

ceebeejeebies
My dad wanted to call me Zeus (pronounced zee-us grin) or blade, I'm so happy I was born a girl and given a slightly more conventional name.

You should feel happy that you weren't born this year, with the increasing numbers who want to give their female baby a unisex (male) name.

I'm sure you would have loved being Zeus Grin

ImFineThankYouSusan · 18/10/2019 16:37

Jack.
Boring af

ilovemykids5 · 18/10/2019 16:22

@Couchbettato yeah I've got one like that too. 😂

GummyGoddess · 18/10/2019 16:08

Fecking Constantine! No, I don't want a baby nicknamed Stan.

Couchbettato · 18/10/2019 15:58

I wish mine suggested ANY name, instead he kept quiet and just vetoed what he didn't like

december20100 · 18/10/2019 15:22

The name Timothy he likes it, I don't

mistermagpie · 18/10/2019 14:46

Marcus. Which is alright and and everything, but we have a Magnus already - it's practically the same name!
