I knew a Robina - always called Robin, I think. And knew a few males Robins - one of whom went by his 2nd name instead.

I like it and would stick with Robin spelling.

diddlediddle · 13/10/2019 17:41

Robin, v cute.

Don't do Robyn, I find it naff.

StandardPoodles · 13/10/2019 17:40

I really like it!

hungryhippie · 13/10/2019 17:37

I don't like it.
I instantly think of the bird and to my ear, it sounds like a wet boys name.

TheGirlWithTheFeatherTat · 13/10/2019 17:36

My lovely wee gran was called Robina and I want to call my first child Robin/Robyn in honour of her

HeronLanyon · 13/10/2019 17:32

I have a lovely Robin female relative. She’s American where that spelling is normal for women. Like the name. Not as fond of Robyn spelling.

CalamityJune · 13/10/2019 17:27

I love Robyn for a girl. Unfortunately, it doesn't go with my surname or it would be near the top of my list!

Daffodil2018 · 13/10/2019 17:24

I love it - both spellings. I wish I'd called my daughter Robin as she was born at Christmas. It's unusual and beautiful.

Shockers · 13/10/2019 17:22

I love it, but I feel that the spelling Robyn takes away from the name a little, so I’d go with Robin, even for a girl. It was one of the names i had in mind 19 years ago, so I don’t think it’s led by fashion either.

bridgetreilly · 13/10/2019 17:19

I like it and much prefer Robin to Robyn.

Teacakeandalatte · 13/10/2019 17:12

I like it.

DramaAlpaca · 13/10/2019 17:09

Robyn is a better spelling for a girl, but I'm not fond of it as a name.

CountFosco · 13/10/2019 17:08

I love the name, spelt Robin. Don't like the Robyn spelling at all.

Please don’t name your child Robina as suggested above - is that even a name?! confused

Yes, it's a Scottish female name, I have older relatives with that name.

Mollpop · 13/10/2019 17:08

I really dislike it

Canyousewcushions · 13/10/2019 17:08

I love it but would also use Robyn- that's the spelling I'd assume for a girl so using an i would lead to spelling/gender confusion in other people i think. Really fab name though.

bellinisurge · 13/10/2019 17:08

I have an awesome female relative with this name.

GaraMedouar · 13/10/2019 17:06

I like it - would spell it Robyn for a girl.

madeyemoodysmum · 13/10/2019 17:05

I also think it’s due a surge as the new character in stranger things has the name.

madeyemoodysmum · 13/10/2019 17:04

I like it.

Marlena1 · 13/10/2019 17:04

I love it!!! Would be on my list if I was having more.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 13/10/2019 17:03

I like it. The Robyn spelling for a girl.

Grumpymcgrumperson · 13/10/2019 17:01

Robin for a girl is lovely, but prefer the Robyn spelling! Please don’t name your child Robina as suggested above - is that even a name?! Confused

ShePersisted · 13/10/2019 17:00

Gosh as a female Robin myself, some of these comments are a bit harsh! It's worked out ok for me as a name, and sometimes I think the gender confusion works in my favour over email for work. It's much more popular inNorth America, where I'm from. Famous female Robins include the pop singer and Robin Wright.

MissHenty · 13/10/2019 16:51

For a girl it’s spelt Robyn and for a boy Robin

Prefer the name Robin to be used for a boy

Shadow1234 · 13/10/2019 16:49

Love it for a girl - but prefer the Robyn spelling
