Calling my baby boy Romeo when my name is Juliette

Hi Mums,

I am expecting my 3rd son and I really want to call him Romeo (it came to me in a dream) and my name is Juliette. I really like the name but suddenly wondered if it was weird that I call him that considering the story of Romeo and Juliette and that I'm his mum....
I may be reading way too much into this but would be happy to read your opinions...
Thanks much : )

😂😂
Very odd OP

Hey1256 · 13/10/2019 20:54

No it's really weird

EdWinchester · 13/10/2019 11:43

I smell bullshit.

And ‘hello mums’ Envy not envy

yellowallpaper · 13/10/2019 11:17

Cringe .....

BowiesJumper · 13/10/2019 10:52

This has got to be a joke...

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 13/10/2019 10:50

Oh-and reported...

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 13/10/2019 10:50

Very good OP very good! How about Monty for a middle name?!!!🤣

Transpeaked · 13/10/2019 10:46

Please don’t

AFistfulofDolores1 · 13/10/2019 10:42

I'd be examining your unconscious attitude to a baby son.

Barbel · 13/10/2019 10:40

Oh god no!
Very very weird!
Poor crater will have the life ribbed out of him by his peers forever!
It's a bit icky and definately weird

Teacakeandalatte · 13/10/2019 10:37

When he is older he may come to you and complain; "Romeo, Romeo wherefore art I Romeo"

1Lollypop · 13/10/2019 10:32

I love it! I would deffo do it i think its sweet and diffrent, go for it!! Congratulations byw :) x

Skyejuly · 13/10/2019 07:33

Wht about Roman instead

Jellycat00 · 13/10/2019 04:44

I hate how nasty and spiteful everyone gets on here sometimes!!!
I really don't think it's a good idea OP. There are children called Romeo here too, so that's not the issue. I just think its such an obvious pairing that it will raise eyebrows!

RedWine123 · 13/10/2019 02:25

It’s really not that bad... it’s only a name

beethebee · 13/10/2019 01:40

No Romeo. Just no.

I wanted to call DS Ramses when I was pg so I get the effect of hormones, I really do.

But ffs don't do it.

nocoolnamesleft · 13/10/2019 00:21

"O, be some other name!"

Branster · 13/10/2019 00:15

Too close to Oedipus’s story in my mind because of the romantic name connection yet it is a case of mother and son. So probably best not to. You can always ask your DP to change his name to Romeo?

leomama81 · 12/10/2019 23:55

This may well be a wind up but in case it isn't - seriously, don't. The world famous love story aside, it's an awful, tacky name. The only men I have ever encountered called Romeo have been gigolos hitting up rich older foreign women for sex at beach resorts.

LimpidPools · 12/10/2019 23:54

Oh yes, how he'd laugh when you explained to him at age 15 as he read the play. Like a drain Hmm

Tillygetsit · 12/10/2019 23:53

Dont be so daft.

DramaAlpaca · 12/10/2019 23:49

Of course it's a joke. Nice try, OP.

Proseccoinamug · 12/10/2019 23:48

Yeah. If you’re serious, you really can’t.

Frith2013 · 12/10/2019 23:39

No doubt he’ll be a Monty...

Shalom23 · 12/10/2019 23:31

Do you realise that in the play Juliet was betrothed to Paris before she had underage sex and marriage to Romeo? Then Romeo killed Paris before the double suicide of him and Juliet. Now apply that to your future teenage son, yourself and home city. I dare not enquire about this baby's father's name.
