I much prefer Georgina. I love all the George names. I like the nn Max for a girl, but prefer it for Maxima or Maximillienne - or something else.

Georgina is miles better than Maxine. The one I worked with was small, brash and hard as nails!

My first association is with Maxine Peake so much more positive than Maxine Carr. Still not keen. Too 70s for me.

Georgina's ok, but I prefer Georgie or Georgia.

Definitely Georgina, Maxine is dreadful, agree with pp, I think of someone rough and tough.

Never Maxine. I think the most (in)famous one that comes instantly to mind is Maxine Carr. Not a great association for a child's name.

Another one bullied by a Maxine! Seemed to be the hard girl's name of the 80s. Prefer Georgina.
