What do you think of this name for a boy

Kace for a boy? Pronounced Case. I'm worried it's a bit too trendy and chav but really like it.

Other options are;

Theo
Ashton
Asher
Tristan

But I'm just not feeling them as much especially as it will get shortened to Ash. Also Theo a bit popular at the moment.

Thoughts please?

Kies, Kees is a legitimate Dutch boys name so why not. I love Asher

Mumma1984 · 09/10/2019 16:54

@Hey1256 my lb is Chael (ch -ay -el) I really liked it because it's odd, his middle name is Maverick- I actually don't mind Kace :) I liked Abel, Braydon and Chase as well x

Hey1256 · 09/10/2019 16:50

@Scarlett555 no thanks because they're boring names. I've never been one for boring, sorry.

Also, Asher is a biblical traditional name it's not all that trendy so I'm not sure why he'd be a 'poor child' not being called Ben or Oliver. Please useful suggestions only!

Only person I recall is Casey Kasem who did American top 40 chart on radio in 80s, 90s.

That's who I immediately thought of too. Also Casey & The Sunshine Band Grin

Not a fine of Kace, personally. Expect him to be nicknamed Cake. I like Theo, but it's becoming the new Jack or Oliver. Asher is nice, but if people aren't familiar with it, they'll hear the last syllable as an 'a' and assume it's a girl's name - like (Na)Tasha or Sasha (yes, I know Sacha is a boy's name in some European countries, but it isn't commonly in the UK).

Heatingson · 09/10/2019 15:12

Ah I see. Well he was a lovely boy Smile.

The Dutch version is spelled Kees but pronounced Case.

memaymamo · 09/10/2019 14:29

We met a Kace on holiday. He was 11 and Dutch. I’m not sure how he spelt it though. I had to ask him to repeat it to check I had heard correctly. I think it’s fine name though.

Could that be Kees?

@Boireannachlaidir I'm not sure what you're getting at. Are you sneering at the original post somehow?

Igottastartthinkingbee · 09/10/2019 14:28

No no no Kace. Asher or Tristan are the best of your list.

Charlesandfred · 09/10/2019 14:25

I'm sorry but they are all awful.

Just call the poor kid Oliver or Ben

AverageMummy · 09/10/2019 10:34

Asher is lovely

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 09/10/2019 10:24

I have a Theo and it's not common at all here (Scotland).

I also love Leo. If you like that hard K sound, how about Kit or Kester (which is the old form of Christopher). Both work as nns for Christopher too.

TwoPupsandaHamster · 09/10/2019 10:21

I'd use it as a middle name and go for something else, maybe Justin as a first name

😂🤣😂🤣😂

Astronica · 09/10/2019 04:41

I dislike Kace. I really like Theo from your list, and Tristan is okay.

Caspar
Leo
Jasper
Milo

diddlediddle · 09/10/2019 04:23

Asher and Tristan are both nice solid names with a classic history and will allow your son to grow up to be whoever he wants.

Kace is absolutely dreadful I'm afraid and would pigeonhole your son into a particular social group.

Goldiegorilla · 09/10/2019 02:22

I’ve known a couple of Ashers, lovely name.

How about Mason? Or Fraser? Or Darcy?

IVflytrap · 09/10/2019 01:48

I like Asher and Tristan. Their is nice but a bit over done.

Asa (As in Asa Butterfield. Pronounced Ay-sa.)
Leon / Leo
Nate
Jay
Keir
Kester
Elias
Roscoe
Jasper
Xavier
Oscar
Elliot
Wade
Casper
Cassian
Lucas
Dashiell

AlexTheKid · 08/10/2019 23:09

If you like Asher do you like Archer?

I love Theo (& Leo)

notso · 08/10/2019 23:03

Rachelover60 · 08/10/2019 22:59

Ooh Asher! Do you remember, 'A brimful of Asha" by Corner Shop - everybody needs a bosom for a pillow.

XXcstatic · 08/10/2019 22:56

I like Casey but Kace is just cruel because he'll spend his entire life having it mis-pronounced. If you like the sound of the name, call him Casey - you can always shorten it to Case in the family.

I like your other choices too - don't see the problem with shortening to Ash.

AudacityOfHope · 08/10/2019 22:52

I loooooove Tristan.

Please don't name your child Kace. Confused
