We have DC1 on the way in January, and really struggling for boys names. We want something pretty classic, but baby is going to have 10 male cousins, most of whom have got v classic names, of just the type we love.

We can't use:
George
Daniel
Oliver
Daniel
Adam
Benjamin
Harry
Thomas
Richard
Edward
Patrick
James

What would you consider to be in a similar vein to these that might fit the bill? We don't want to go too left field or 'grandad'.

Thanks!

I love Jacob or Joseph.

We have an Isaac, not to popular but still quite a classic name I think! A

OP's list a very British interpretation of classic yes. I don't see John, Michael or Patrick, Benedict, Benedictus if you're really brave, Louis, Marcus, Julius, Leo, Dominic, Gregory, John Paul :-p Ok, that combination is pushing it. I'm not Catholic, but in the rest of Europe, former popes' names are classic.

Have you tried going through names in the bible and names of Kings and Princes from British history if you like classical?

Obviously if you go biblical you will get a bit buried in the “Ahesuerus” type names but you can also find Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Jacob, Joseph, Christopher, Paul and many more.

With Kings and Princes you will get a lot of Henrys and Georges But William is nice as is James.

I would describe our taste in names as “very classical” and for my kids four names (two first, two middle) we have two biblical books, a biblical mother figure and a 16th century Queen!
