I like the name a lot and I don't think it's common for young children anymore. Opinions please?

The last John I knew of was in my sons year, so he'll be 14. I think it's a great solid name, would you go with Jonathan or just John on its own?

Spied · 04/10/2019 16:37

It's not for me.
I don't think it's ready for it's revival yet.

MissHenty · 04/10/2019 16:34

Yes lovely name. It’s barely heard anymore

TatianaLarina · 04/10/2019 15:38

Good manly name.

Expressedways · 04/10/2019 13:52

It’s a nice, classic name. Also, it’s very popular in DD’s (American) daycare so it might be the start of a revival?!

formerbabe · 04/10/2019 13:49

A revival is long overdue

DS middle name is John. Midwife thought it was lovely, ‘you don’t get many of those’-this was just over a year ago.

Aquamarine1029 · 04/10/2019 13:43

I love it. It's hardly ever used anymore.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 04/10/2019 13:42

I like it Smile. Dc2(8) & dc4(4) both have a John in their classes so there are little John’s out there.

Milicentbystander72 · 04/10/2019 13:29

I like it. It's solid and classic.

You're right, I don't know any Johns at all. My dcs are 15 and 12 though. There may have been a John wave in newborns but I doubt it.

Go for it. It's refreshing.
