Do you like the name?

Do you know anyone called Boudicca?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
emilybrontescorsett · 02/10/2019 21:13

I've heard worse.

BetterEatCheese · 02/10/2019 21:13

Don't do it! She wasn't a nice person and the subject will come up at school. I know of one and I know lots of people were shocked and laughed at it

Skyejuly · 02/10/2019 21:12

Absolutely not

ChevalierTialys · 02/10/2019 21:04

Boudicca, hell no. What about Boadicea? Same history, slightly softer name.

YouJustDoYou · 02/10/2019 21:02

My hamster was Boudicca.

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 02/10/2019 21:01

Yes. Boudicca is shortened to Boo at the vets as even calling her by her full name sounds pretentious Grin

Aozora13 · 02/10/2019 10:14

An acquaintance of mine (who incidentally is a massive hipster) named his daughter Boudicca, nn Bo or Boo. I actually don’t hate it but would feel a bit of a twat yelling it across the playground.

awesomeaircraft · 02/10/2019 10:14

I have neutral feelings towards the name but I would not inflict in onto a child.

She is an inspiring historical figure but her story is gory. She was eventually vanquished and the Romans raped her daughters as punishment, took her land, etc. It is too heavy for a young child to carry.

KUGA · 02/10/2019 10:09

What`s she done so bad ?.
NO NO NO NO.

123Dancewithme · 02/10/2019 09:54

I know one. Her siblings have unusual names too.

ShippingNews · 02/10/2019 09:47

No. It's awful. "Hi, I'm Boudicca - just call me Boo ! Or Dick !"

Don't do it.

elQuintoConyo · 02/10/2019 09:47

There was one very gobby woman on the British version of Storage Wars. It kinda suited her, tbh.

Moondancer73 · 02/10/2019 09:46

Actually I don't dislike it. It's strong and independent but I'm not sure it's an easy name to live with growing up. I think if you call her Bhodi then it's do able and it would grow on me. Don't discount it if you like it - it's your baby after all.

FuckOffBoris · 02/10/2019 09:43

Fuck, no.

Bishbosh84 · 02/10/2019 09:42

I think we all know one Boudicca OP...

NataliaOsipova · 02/10/2019 09:40

Icenit around from time to time...

😂😂😂😂

Seriously - don’t! What if she ends up being a quiet, shy little girl? It has very definite associations.

AverageMummy · 02/10/2019 09:36

No

And of course not Grin

Ethelswith · 02/10/2019 08:08

Yes,

And yes, she's a terrier and it suits her

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 02/10/2019 08:07

Yes.
My dog.

BeanBag7 · 02/10/2019 08:07

No I wouldnt use it. Too long, complicated to spell and say, has big connotations, doesn't have nickname... and frankly I dont think it sounds like a name.

JoanieCash · 02/10/2019 08:05

I’ve worked with two, but not with that spelling: one Malaysian male and one Sri Lankan female, both spelt Bhuddika.

user1493494961 · 02/10/2019 08:01

She could be Dic for short.

Mothership4two · 02/10/2019 03:26

Do you like the name? No

Do you know anyone called Boudicca? Only the original one

It's not a particularly pleasant sounding name and there are several different ways to pronounce it.

Mothership4two · 02/10/2019 03:21

@CendrillonSings

Grin
Mummaofmytribe · 02/10/2019 03:20

I get why you like it, it has great, powerful conations, (sp?)but it's a huge name to carry around. I think it's one of those names that could be a burden.
