Honeymoon ‘name’

I have a while to worry about this as only 12 weeks!
For a boys name my husband and family like the name Romeo, I like it too however we went on our honeymoon to Rome in the summer and i just don’t know if it’s too ‘tacky’ to name a child after somewhere it was likely conceived!
Opinions please?! Wine

Roman? This is an accepted name.

I really like the name Romeo

diddlediddle · 28/09/2019 16:19

No one will remember where you went on honeymoon, nor will they connect it to the name. If anyone did, you could just be like, oh yes! I suppose there is a connection but that isn't the reason we liked it.

Not an issue.

Let's hope it's a girl.

Be grateful you didn't go to Bognor
Bog as a nn would be bloody awful!!

🤞 I do like the name but a few people have already commented on a honeymoon baby, I think we will have to have a discussion and see how we feel when April comes!

Unless you mention it, I doubt anyone will make the “conception” link.

I’d associate Romeo with Verona rather than Rome, anyway!

Mummybares · 28/09/2019 15:52

So cringey.

no one will know where you conceived him unless you tell them.

BethanyGilbert · 28/09/2019 15:50

Would you consider just Rome? Was there a specific part of the holiday?

Bunnybigears · 28/09/2019 15:50

If you like the name then I dont think it matters. If you go out of your way to name them after the place they are conceived such as calling them Macclesfield for example then that's just weird. Can I also throw Roman into the mix. I love the name Roman.
