Modern & Spiritual middle name for Reya?

We had originally chosen the name: Reya Eden Sky, but I hadn’t realised how popular the name Eden had become.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for a girl’s name with a spiritual flavour - that isn’t too traditional or old-fashioned, for our more modern naming style?

It doesn’t have to be an obvious connection - a name that has a spiritual or virtuous meaning, or the name of a Saint that sounds more modern... we’re open to anything, really.

2 Syllables, like Eden would be perfect.

Our DS #1 is called: Brody Rocco Shae (Rocco is a Saint). Xx

Zinnia? It's a flower.

Reya Zinnia sounds nice to me! (Assuming it's pronounced Raya)

I think in Latin it's Kehrez but in English Serez

@Proseccoinamug I don't like Astrid but Keziah is lovely. I don't think it works well with Reya, but otherwise a beautiful name, x

@appledragon I quite like Esti and Inez. I'm not sure if they work with Reya? x

AppleDragon · 28/09/2019 09:17

Esti is a lovely diminutive of Ester and works well as a standalone name

PurBal · 28/09/2019 09:10

I like Caritas.

Charity is the anglicised version ans works too.

coconuttymummy · 28/09/2019 08:52

I like Neriah and Areli, but I don't think they pair well with Reya xxx

Some interesting biblical names for girls (and boys) here including Junia, Kaziah, Abeline, Adalia, Adah and Jaala.

VenusClapTrap · 28/09/2019 08:08

Actually, not Storm. Sounds like rainstorm 🤦🏻‍♀️

VenusClapTrap · 28/09/2019 08:05

Reya isn’t a ‘modern’ name. It was the name of my great great great aunt, born in 1847. She spelt it Reyia though. Nice, unusual name though!

How about a nature name?
Reya Storm
Reya Meadow
Reya Sequoia

daisypond · 28/09/2019 07:41

Which is the Celtic name? Perhaps I’m missing something. How about Aster instead of Esther? Or Vita - meaning life?

coconuttymummy · 28/09/2019 07:32

@DoctorAllcome I adore your apt use of our preferred themes/meanings via the name Asman .... unfortunately, neither of us like the actual name. 😢

Likewise, with Ester. What a strong heritage that name has. Sadly, it’s just too traditional/old-fashioned for our tastes.

I adore their meanings, though. X

Lilith is seen as a demoness by many, so wouldn’t be quite what we’re looking for! 😁

@DoctorAllcome I do like Noa a lot. Unfortunately it doesn’t play well with Reya 😭
