My DH and I seem worlds apart with the names we like. I can’t even begin to ‘sort of’ like any on his list (I hate them all with a passion) and apparently he feels the same about mine...

So if I like;

Imogen
Headley
Beatrice
Lexi

And he likes:

Eliza
Peyton
Kelsey
McKinley
Presley

Skyler

What might we BOTH like?!

Okay so, after some discussion (!) DH has agreed Imogen IS a good name. We have also added Isadora to our list.

Averagemummy - yes I’m very English and quite old school. My DH was born abroad hence the difference I think.

OP - can you list out some of the suggestions you read that you like to give more of an idea of names you like?

Your original list could have been written by two different people with one person suggesting, Hadley, Lexi and another Beatrice. Imogen could be either.

They look like very different demographics except Headley should be on his list & Eliza on yours. His (plus Headley) are just appalling.

I imagine Headley is a surname, not cool at all as a first name (especially the Head part).

I’m not a fan of either list tbh apart from the name Imogen which I like.

Lexi? Headley? Your tastes are not as far apart as you seem to think. That is good though because it means you will find a name you both like.

Marnie might suit? It’s along the same line as Macie which would fit on one of your lists?

Eve known as Evie might suit both of you?

Imogen known as Immy? India? Ali ? Effie? Missy?

Thanks for all the feedback so far!

I am really disliking Eliza (it’s his number 1). I love Elisabeth, but I know it’ll get shortened to Eliza, so have had to strike it off my list.

Headley is a family name, I think it is quite cool, though realise might not be for everyone!!

You just have to keep going OP! Look again through the hooks or get new ones

Look for inspiration in the family or places that mean something to you both. Plays or books you both like. TV programmes even.
