Which name for our little boy? Last name is one syllable.

Thomas - only 0.5% of babies so in his generation quite rare

Astronica · 22/09/2019 07:14

Just saw your update - I was coming to say Thomas is my favourite!

MissHenty · 22/09/2019 07:01

@CarysRed Thomas a perfect choice

CarysRed · 22/09/2019 01:53

@thebakerwithboobs by the time I have another one I think Nigel might be back in fashion

Oh sorry, just seen your update! Lovely choice!

Louisaouisa · 21/09/2019 23:17

Thomas. Tom is also a lovely nickname..and I hate nicknames!

Josh makes me cringe a bit but I’m not sure why. I just hate the sound

DramaAlpaca · 21/09/2019 23:16

Good choice OP, Thomas is great.

Heh1991 · 21/09/2019 22:52

Thomas!

BanKittenHeels · 21/09/2019 22:44

Thomas by a country mile.

thebakerwithboobs · 21/09/2019 22:41

Lovely names OP-just don't use all your good ones on one baby in case you have another and have to call him Nigel!

CarysRed · 21/09/2019 22:14

Definitely going with Tom. He will be Thomas Elijah Joshua

It's popular because it's a great name!

georgialondon · 21/09/2019 21:57

Tom definitely

Iknowacrackingowlsanctuary · 21/09/2019 21:34

My DS2 was almost a Thomas but we went with something else because my DS1 is a massive Thomas the Tank fan - I still sometimes look at DS2 and wish we’d gone with Thomas (although I do love his name!)

So my vote goes to Thomas

Joeybee · 21/09/2019 21:31

Like them both. Joshua is great because of Josh as a non, which is just gorgeous. Joshua is quite popular though.
Thomas is less popular, there's the Thomas the Tank Engine connection, which I think a little boy would love...but Thomas/Tom is less fun and interesting a name than Joshua.

PoppleSausage · 21/09/2019 21:21

I have one of each! We haven't found them to be very common at all either no matter what the top name lists say. Why not wait until you meet your baby and see which suits him the best?

PinkCrayon · 21/09/2019 21:19

Thomas is a lovely name. Also great as Tom. Far nicer than Joshua/Josh imo.

aibutohavethisusername · 21/09/2019 21:13

Joshua

trotesio · 21/09/2019 21:09

Thomas, definitely.

In my experience, Joshua is a 'naughty boy' name.

TimeToGetMeBack · 21/09/2019 20:50

I have a Joshua Thomas

CarysRed · 21/09/2019 20:47

@YouJustDoYou I’m not bothered about how common they are

OP posts:
Dobinette · 21/09/2019 20:44

I prefer Thomas also

Hopesorfears · 21/09/2019 20:43

Classic though

YouJustDoYou · 21/09/2019 20:42

I know about seven thomass, and 3 Joshuas. Both very common names.

123Dancewithme · 21/09/2019 20:41

Thomas
