Boy/girl twins. What goes with....

Max.

We thought we had two girls. So had kind of matchy style names (Camille and Claudia) in the pipeline.

Neither of those is the girls' name I love, but I kind of didn't mind because there were two, so it wouldn't be like one had my favourite name over the other. I like both the names, but no more than like.

Now it's turned out they're definitely boy/girl. So the boy will be Max. And I can't think of anything I like other than the name I can't have, now it's only one girls name I need. (It's been what my daughter has always been called in my head for the last 20yrs, and literally a year ago, this bitch who's connected directly to our family stole it, and yes I am fucking bitter) Spam me with names that go with Max please. Help me find something I love...

Max and Athena ?

I do understand but hopefully having your own daughter will make the other name pale a bit, and help you come to terms with it. Flowers

Im sorry I haven’t read the whole thread but I just wanted to say that when your daughter is born, she will be the name you decide to give her. The fictional daughter you’ve had in your head for 20 years is just that: fictional. Your real daughter will own her name and make it hers, and you will love it and her more than anything.

Thank you, that does make sense and I hope so, so much. It's just I have to hear this bloody woman's kid being referred to all the time that one name, and every mention of the name sickens me that someone like that took it... which is now going to be the case for the rest of my life, and every time I hear it, it's just a reminder, a kick in the stomach about it. She had already picked another name. A bloody awful one that's nothing like any of the ones I like, and it's one that suits her far better. And then changed to "Evangeline".

Like I said, if, say, my best friend had fallen in love with the name after hearing it was my life long choice, I'd be sad, but more accepting that someone I loved had loved it equally. It means so much to me, that to have it deliberately taken by that circumstance makes me so unaccepting.

It means 'polite' by the way, but in a wider sense of a virtue.

Eugenie is the anglicized version of Evgenia, a Greek name you'd come across every so often.

Courtney555 · 21/09/2019 07:44

Beatrice has reminded me I liked Eugenie. Is it too unique to Princess, I can't think of anyone else with that name, and it is quite distinctive.

Honor is a great name. It usually doesn’t have the U in it. The name of some unheard of mobile phone won’t matter. And you can refer to them as Max and Honor, not Honor and Max.

If the name has already been "stolen", why can't we know what it was? Would help in suggesting alternatives.
