Boy/girl twins. What goes with....

Max.

We thought we had two girls. So had kind of matchy style names (Camille and Claudia) in the pipeline.

Neither of those is the girls' name I love, but I kind of didn't mind because there were two, so it wouldn't be like one had my favourite name over the other. I like both the names, but no more than like.

Now it's turned out they're definitely boy/girl. So the boy will be Max. And I can't think of anything I like other than the name I can't have, now it's only one girls name I need. (It's been what my daughter has always been called in my head for the last 20yrs, and literally a year ago, this bitch who's connected directly to our family stole it, and yes I am fucking bitter) Spam me with names that go with Max please. Help me find something I love...

Crunchymum · 25/09/2019 15:36

Missing the point somewhat but OP how do you know "This horrid woman" was just out to get pregnant? and how did she find out about 'your' name given she was a ONS? Confused

RachelEllenR · 25/09/2019 12:14

I don't really like the latest list. Anya came to mind immediately, But also think Max and Eva is great.

I like Pippa (Philippa) too.

SirVixofVixHall · 25/09/2019 12:06

I also love Anna, beautiful name.

FizzyGreenWater · 25/09/2019 11:59
  • was also going to say the only negative about Max and Saskia is that you have the two 'as' type sounds in there, which is ever so slightly hard to say.
FizzyGreenWater · 25/09/2019 11:58

Oh yes Annie is a possible there. Which reminds me, how about:

Max and Anna?

If you wanted to go in the opposite direction of the original 'name' (which sounds fairly long and elaborate) then you couldn't do better than Anna - so simple, absolutely beautiful, just about the most classic elegant name there is.

SirVixofVixHall · 25/09/2019 10:15

The Angelina I know has Annie as her pet name.
Honor is lovely, have your friends not heard of Honor Blackman ?
Max and Petra
Max and Julia
Max and Juliet
Max and Louise
Max and Verity
Max and Ursula
Max and Saskia
Max and Stephanie
Max and Lilian
Max and Persephone
Max and Katerina /Catrina
Max and Esther
Max and Tatiana

How awful for you OP, that your name was used to be spiteful towards you. Pretty vile thing to do to a child .

FizzyGreenWater · 25/09/2019 09:46

My vote is very much for Saskia too, it's a really amazing name - very pretty in the way Sophie is pretty, but with a real exotic edge. And everyone can spell it, there's only one way to spell it (!), and everyone is familiar with it.

Plus, it will be shortened to Sass which is so much better than Ange (Angelina) or Ade (Adrianna)!

I like Claudia too but it's not half as nice as Saskia.

RickOShay · 25/09/2019 07:34

Cross post!
Honor is my favourite girls name. It has everything imho. What does your dp like?

RickOShay · 25/09/2019 07:32

Agree with basilisk
My vote is for Saskia.

Courtney555 · 25/09/2019 07:32

@BasiliskStare

Thank you Flowers my friends have been great, and (whether they genuinely think it or not) they are pushing it quite strongly that it's impossible to use my name now because it's got such an ugly connotation behind it now.

It's really helping. I get a little twinge of "eurgh" when I hear it now. And I don't want ever want that thought association with my little girl.

DM likes Saskia too. I really like Honor but friends have been "is that even a name?" Which has put me off a tiny bit.

Angelica
Isadora
Penelope
Ophelia
Emmeline
Seraphina

BasiliskStare · 25/09/2019 01:51

Of those I think Saskia is the best

Seriously @Courtney555 - I had my heart set on a name and told my SIL who blurted something out which made me think - I can't use that name. So not quite the same as you but when Ds came out and had the name we gave him I have never given it another moment's thought - please don't let this spoil any moment of joy you will have with your DD - I suspect there may come a time where you think you dodged a bullet.

I like Honor , Saskia , or Tatiana , Anastasia ?

Of your 4 front runners Saskia would win it for me by a country mile Grin

Whoops75 · 25/09/2019 00:02

Courtney555 · 24/09/2019 23:53

Petrova - fab name.

PrincessLouis · 23/09/2019 21:43

Petrova? Like in Ballet Shoes?

I know forgiveness is really hard. But honestly don’t waste a second of the brain space you could give to your wonderful twins on bad feeling, for your own sake. Good luck Flowers

IckleBear · 23/09/2019 11:27

Max and Cecily
Max and Rosa
Max and Ingrid
Max and Thora
Max and Petra

FizzyGreenWater · 22/09/2019 18:40

Max and Sabrina.

Max and Xanthe is fab!

I think if the original name is long, don't have a really long name as it will look as if you tried to find something else. I'd be tempted to go the other way and have something fairly short to go with Max but that is BEAUTIFUL.

Persea · 22/09/2019 14:17

Antoinette
Carlotta
Claudine

Clayplease · 22/09/2019 14:15

How about Adeline? I think it's so pretty, would go with Max and Addy is a sweet nickname.

BrutusMcDogface · 22/09/2019 14:08

Xanthe was going to be my daughter. Decided years and years ago. Turned out, dp didn’t like it so that was that!

MollyHuaCha · 22/09/2019 10:06

Julia
Susannah
Xanthe
Camille
