Alliteration first and last name not sure if it’s too weird.

So we decided on a name a long time ago as Henry. However our surname also begins with a H. We’re unsure if this will sound too weird for our baby but we don’t really like any other names and everyone has called him Henry since about month 4 of my pregnancy. What is everyone else’s opinions ?

My DD has an alliterated name and I did it sort of on purpose! I love it!

Charlotte Church doesn't really count though as its a Sh and Ch sound.

alliterations are memorable and can be really effective. Not weird at all. I’d draw the like at something like David Davison though!
I completely agree.

This is also the issue with being impatient and telling people what name you want so early in the pregnancy !!

I have an alliterative name. It's fine.

BogglesGoggles · 15/09/2019 13:46

I like it actually.

Marilyn Monroe
It will be fine you are over thinking it

Mostly they are fine, sometimes they aren’t. We’d need to know the surname.

Sam Smith
Laurie Lee
Steve Smith
Arthur Ashe
Charlotte Church

All those plus the pp has named are fine imo.

Ideal if your surname is Higgins,

Ricekrispie22 · 15/09/2019 12:57

Boris Becker
Robert Redford
Danny Devito
Lindsay Lohan
Jesse James
Danny Dyer
Leona Lewis
Ryan Reynolds

Etc etc... alliterations are memorable and can be really effective. Not weird at all. I’d draw the like at something like David Davison though!

So long as your surname isn't Hover then I dont see a problem at all. My name, my sisters and my mums name are all alliterated and never even really thought about it. Certainly never been a problem or been teased etc.. for it

not sure but we are in exactly the same situation so following this thread!
