We've found out we're expecting a third girl (!!) and we are really struggling for a name this time.

I like Constance but DH has vetoed. He wants Mary or Madeleine but I hate both.

Help us please!

I love the name Constance too. Do you like Millicent maybe?

Do sibling names necessarily have to "go together

Well there’s no law to say so obviously. But if you’ve got a James and Henry or a George and William etc already and then have a son and call him Iestin personally I think it would be a little odd.

Margaret
Victoria
Charlotte (Although I'd be reluctant to have two Miss C Smiths)
Mary and Anne are also classic names but much shorter than the others.

Do sibling names necessarily have to "go together"?

My situation is slightly different as my kids would not all be "full" siblings but...I have two boys with my ex. He was old-school traditional and so our two boys have pretty traditional names. I do like their names. Ish!

My fiancé and I are considering a child together (he has no children). We have already discussed names and they are not common because we both like slightly quirky and he's half Welsh. I'm loving Iestyn (say "Yestin") for a boy and he likes Cerys for a girl.

I don't think if you really like a name that you should necessarily rule it out because it is not similar in style to your other children?

@cantrip so agree Sarah would work really well. Can't think of the last time I heard it. Pretty nicknames like the other names too :)

Cantrip · 13/09/2019 10:08

Sarah would work beautifully with your other daughters’ names I think, and isn’t overused these days

SquigglePigs · 13/09/2019 09:55

Eleanor, Charlotte, Alice, Harriet, Hannah, Emily, Emmeline

Although Charlotte is another C it is a different sound. Good luck - choosing names is hard!
