I need an unusual, quirky, pretty, girl’s name, and quick.

Baby girl due very soon. I already have 2 sons and choosing a girl’s name is so much harder!

I like more modern names mostly (with the exception of names like Hazel and Cassia) not a huge fan of say Eleanor for example.
Something that’s unusual, a bit quirky and has personality but is also pretty. I mean don’t we all want that? (For ex one of my friends has a Nova which I’ve always quite liked but not a fan of other astrological names) Don’t want anything too ridiculous though. I imagine myself saying to a teacher ‘hi my name is X’ and think whether I’d like saying that or not!

Please help! I’ll take any suggestions. Nothing is stupid, just help a struggling, overly fussy with names, mum. There are plenty of names I like but none that I just think yes, that’s my baby’s name.

Winner gets a mars bar. Unless you’re vegan. Okay I’ll stop talking now - I clearly need to go to bed.

@RedRec that sounds a bit sneery! Surely all names are pretty much classless? (Apart from perhaps Rees-Mogg's kid's names...) Go on then, what's your 'working class' suggestions?! What makes a name working class?

RedRec · 09/09/2019 11:06

All these baby naming threads are achingly middle class.

It is a matter of opinion yes, for example OP has referred to Hazel as though it was anything other than a really really old name.

These threads will often suggest names posters just really like. The addition of the sons names helped too.

LeithWalk · 09/09/2019 11:03

Unusual boys names already. It's really hard to suggest names for someone else.

Sydney, Esther, Elspeth (nn Elsie) Ada, Dora, Dorothy, Melody, Nina, Lydia.

I hope you let us know what you choose!

Phimma · 09/09/2019 10:59

I read to OP.

Don't you think it's all down to everyone having a different opinion ?

IceCreamBrain · 09/09/2019 10:54

It's so interesting seeing how people think of different names i.e. which they're suggesting as presumably they think the names meet the OP's brief (either that or they didn't actually read the op I suppose). I have such different views of a lot of the names suggested.

I really like Clementine or Jocelyn. How cute if they were shortened to Clemmie or Joss?
